PS - how about Lance bridging that gap today?

I read this last night before I had seen the end of the race.  Lance was freakin' awesome.  I just love the way those young Schleck brothers looked around like what is he doing here.  And then Lance dropped one.  It was great!

Heading out tomorrow to in-laws lake house up in South Carolina for a week.  Should be able to get a lot of time in the water.  Thrilled to be hanging out with her folks.

U2 is playing Croke Park in Dublin this weekend.   There is an OLY in the Wicklow Mountains (amazing part of SE Ireland) and one in Galway, my favorite city in Ireland.   I can rent a bike and a wetsuit.  We can leave the kids with her folks and get a non-stop out of Atlanta.  I talked to Jarrett about it yesterday but something else must have been on her mind because she wouldn't stop laughing.

Another good point.  Once we get to Ireland I'll have DD the entire time.

Hey Kids......it is that time!  Who is racing this weekend?

I have my first Oly on Sunday.  I am excited, but extremely nervous!  Logically, I think I have put in the training, but when I think too much about it I freak out!!!

Go Lance Go Lance Go Lance - what a crazy climb up the Alps.  I can't believe he just sat there and let time go by while he wore Wiggins down.  Now he's flying down the mountain!

www.steephill.tv plays most races live on-line.  Pretty cool sight.  For me this weekend-- Oh wait today is my Friday.  Heading to a place down in Oregon to stay for a few days in the woods... No racing (unless we are talking about shotguning beers?), just friends, family, cocktails, and the occasional trail run!!!

STOP TALKING ABOUT THE RACE RESULTS!  YOU'RE RUINNING MY TRAINER RIDE TONIGHT!!!  Laughing  Like you Shannon I like to ride the trainer while watching and think I can keep up.

I too am a hug TdF junky.  Steve, I saw that crash, it looked like he slid on his face!  I haven't heard anything else about him, how is he doing?   I loved watching Lance bridge that gap yesterday.  Awesome.  I must say I am quite miffed at Team Garmin for screwing George the other day. There was no need to do that for it didn't gain them a thing.  Oh, and I think Cadel Evan is a whiney baby!  Plus I love the Schleck brothers. They make me smile just to look at them.  And I think Cavendish got hosed with that sprint finish DQ!  There, my rant is over.

Dannett - you are never too fat to race!  You may not go the speeds you want but never think you are too fat to race!

Kim - I also was amazed that I wasn't sore after my half.  The thing that surprised me was how little energy I had and how weak I was.  I was so pumped the following days that I headed right back to the gym but found I couldn't perform at half of my training level. It took me about 2 weeks before my strength fully returned.  But I never lost my mojo immediately after.  I think I was glowing in the "I can do anything now" afterglow.

No race for me but I am trying to find a sitter for the girls so I can join my bike group to ride in a charity ride.  The Cup and Cone for Linda and Doug.  I always seem to tell my husband to go and then I stay with the kids. This isn't his fault - it is mine - but I always seem to do this!

And guess what, I am one bike ride away from passing ALL of my totals from 2008!  I've already passed my total swim and running distances and am about 25 miles short of passing my bike total!   This is very cool for me!!

Don't worry - even if you know what has sort of happened - these past 2 days have been worth watching again.

I can't get over how ridiculous the reporters have been w/ their headlines and reports about Lance's performance.  They either aren't watching the stages or don't get how a bike race works.  Anyways, he has been awesome.

Awesome job on the totals!  It feels good to pass them so early in the year.  :-)  I passed my swim and bike during my HIM training and should pass my run total before OBX.  Good luck w/ the sitter!

LOL yeah my son has done some running races and has his first duathlon in a month or so.  He loves it.

It's hilarious he knows my bikes have different purposes, mtn bike is for getting dirty, road bike is for normal riding, tri-bike is for racing.

Also if you didn't notice there is a whole TdF section near the bottom.

A group of us that watch live chit-chat about the race as it's going on.

Also lots of info as people don't know whats going on so there are some decent explanations if you don't know how bike races work.

Once you figure out how things work it makes it a lot more interesting to watch I think, unless you are just using it to scope out guys...

Suzy:

Lance has already said he plans of riding the TdF next year. He also said he will make an announcement tomorrow regarding a new team with an American sponsor.  Johan would not comment, but I expect he will go with Lance to the new team. (BTW: I would not be surprised if it was ...Nike). Lance said he will ride for the team, but not manage or fund it. I do not expect AC to be invited. It will be interesting to see who else is on the team.
