rnihill - 2010-12-06 9:03 AM Normally Monday morning weigh-ins are the worst of the week.  Not too bad this morning!  At least a good starting point for the week...

I was pretty happy with mine as well but I cut a lot of snacks out yesterday which was tough with the exciting football game that I watched (Cowboys & Colts).  It helped that I had bought about 5 pounds of Gala Apples on my produce store run so I snacked on those!

Yum!!  My husband packed me an apple, a pear AND a cementine to snack on today.  Hopefully, I'll feel guilty about all of the fruit at my desk so I won't hit up the vending machine for some salty goodness.

Those weekends and Holiday parties sure are bad! Hoping to get and stay on the wagon though I'm being pressured to attend all kinds of Holiday lunches which I'm trying to avoid.

I like the positive thoughts idea.

Avoidance or Awareness.   Wasn't one of your rules to weigh in every day (at least I thought it was one of the requirements and as such is the ONLY reason I did weigh on some days Tongue out)

After a trip home to the parents, a baby shower and 4 long drives in the car I am surprised to only be up 1.2 to 149. Still down 2 for the challenge.

Hoping when I get back on track some will drop.

wgraves7582 - 2010-12-07 7:38 AM OK I have a scenario for you.  I "typically" weigh in right after I get up and go to the little boys room.  I did that today and I came in at 175.0.  Then I went on a 20 minute run (easy pace), did some pushups, showered, and reweighed myself and I was 173.8.

I am more than thrilled to even see 173.8 but in your challengers honest opinion what is my true weight?

My honest opinion is that you didn't hydrate enough during your training.

For the sake of logging, I would put the 175, just in case it was an issue of dehydration to get the 173.8 - that way you won't have to dehyrate every day to maintain it. Reduce your salt intake and keep cracking away at the calories!

Hmmm... for comparison's sake I like to use the weight from the "same time every day" approach.  But occasionally, I have been known to weigh myself throughout the day, looking for something better.  Wink

In reality, you probably won't be below 173.8 tomorrow...  Sayy somewhere between 173.8 and 175.0.  Which scenario would be more motivation to you?  Using 175.0 and seeing a drop tomorrow or using 173.8 and possibly seeing an "increase" tomorrow?

I could debate these things in my head all days...  which is probably why I am not all that productive at work lately!

Awesome job!  A trip to my parent's house is usually worth about 2-3 pounds...

Well this whole running challenge is pretty much over before it even began for me.  My roommates were kind enough to infect me with whatever disease they have so now I'm sick on top of it being finals week  Good thing I love my roomies or i may hold a grudge

peto_primo - 2010-12-05 7:19 PM One Christmas Party down and I actually dropped .2 lbs.

We missed all of our Christmas parties this year. They all fell on the same weekend and we were out of town.

I had a similar weekend. We went to visit my son at school to see him in a couple concerts. Lots of time in the car, lots of food and a trip to Trader Joe's (which can be dangerous).  Weighed in at 199.6 (up 2.6). I better get back out there and do some more training.

finally back under 200lbs.  graph is startin gto go the right direction again.  Why do we let work stress bother us so much?  A lot of my weight has to do with work and the stress associated with it.  I am an emotional eater and stress causes me to go to junk food even though I know what it does to my body.  With my back still hurting, I have not been running to burn these calories.  All points up instead of down.  This is one situation I want to be down and not up!!!!!

BUSTED!  Yes and I will get back to the daily weigh-ins.  It keeps me honest more than anything.

Good question...  but I have noticed that I eat more crap during the week at work than I do at home.  I need to be less of an emotional eater at work and more of an emotinal drinker.   Of water, that is.  Wink

Well, when you can't bite someones head off, crunching through pretezels is much more rewarding somehow than through carrot sticks.....

I'm finally below 140 -- hope I can keep it that way!  We had a weekend of racing and parties and were too busy to eat much.  Tried to make up for it w/ beer Sunday night apparently but it didn't work   We went to a bar with beer taps built into the table and a meter to show how much was poured -- very dangerous for me to pour my own Guinness, especially when the meter was facing away from me!
