However all the other costs and quirks as an Eng in the auto industry. I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another VW. My ex wife tore 5 wiper blades in one winter season on this car. $250 in wiper blades over 3 months sucks. I like my new company. My boss is a bit of a micro manager and pays attention to things that are just not relevant. It is driving me insane today. I have to do a report on what I work on all month long. It is a 3-4 page Word document in his format. He also makes me maintain an Action item list in Excel that covers the exact same thing. He noticed a few things that he didn't like on the word document. These are the things he made me change last month on the excel document. So he emailed me from home on Sunday about 15 emails with corrections. I am debating showing him the emails from last month on what he had me change. Most of it is not relevant to the projects I am working on. Insert Giant Facepalm. I sometimes put my wipers up in the air if I know it's going to be sleeting or icing over. That way I can get them moving and clearing the ice off the windshield sooner. If they are frozen to the windshield I lose that time they are thawing. HIYA TAN! It's definitely Monday. I feel you. I have had that boss before. I was looking for a new job daily. Still bitter. |

Not to mention she didn't stop the one time so I have a wiper sweep scratch in my window now about 0.5" wide. My past 2 cars were VW. Never again. I had a Passat wagon which the dealer eventually killed b/c they didn't understand the warning light. They had to replace the engine as a consequence. I traded that car and they gave me a good deal on a Touareg. Nice car; very luxurious and tight. But the 4WD died at 67K miles which would have cost ~$3500 to fix. I traded back into Nissan and am happy. |

I just don't think he realizes how disabling he is to other people by doing this. I just had my 3 month review here and it went stellar he was very impressed. But he is a workaholic and strikes me as someone that will never be happy no matter how much you do. I live out of my day planner for various reasons. 19 years in industry I have learned the hard way early on to CYA. As I said I like my job and I like what I do. This new company is great compared to the last. But it does get annoying the way he changes stuff and his detail that is useless. Like having two similar documents. (i am afraid they will find this post and connect it to me and cancel our project. actually, i'm not afraid. i hope that happens, fast!) Ruh Roh should I ask. They are over rated. Don't get me wrong there are some great things about my car, Road noise and quality of ride. But those don't outweigh the other BS. Their quality and warranty are BS and fighting with them over a problematic car isn't helpful either. |

Chatham Ontario | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around Well I went to the Toronto bike show on the weekend and no good deals. One decent deal on a SHIV but I don't want to drop that much money. The new P2 was nice but no one had my size (midget) The Felt B16 was my other option but some of the components are crap. Now I can't make up my mind and I am bikeless. Mind you the -20 degrees C today tells me I don't need to rush for a bike just yet. Any thoughts or ideas. I need a 48-50cm bike. |

I had gum graft surgery today - they harvest a piece from the roof of your mouth, peel back what little gum you have in the affected area, and stitch in the graft. I was silly and thought I would go back to work.... I heart Vicodin and fruity Popsicles! The good news is that I am fortunate to have access to health care that will help me keep my teeth longer as I age. |

I am really glad that I didn't google about it too much before hand - lots of blogging about the experience and recovery. The surgery itself wasn't so bad - the doc kept a running dialogue about what he was doing and why and discussing with his assistant what can go wring (like you keep the suction out of there while placing the graft or you'll suck it up like a noodle and have to take another one). I tried to think of it as a radio medical show. I get to do it three more times! I do find it interesting that the divot in the roof of the mouth will regenerate and by the next round of grafting, be all new.Originally posted by bootygirl Stopping in to whine. Thanks Lisa. I will let you know my old 650 Zipps are still in my town with my old bike and the owner keeps complaining to me that they don't fit the frame well. He has to pull the rear stays open by like 1 mm. Thanks Elaine. I contacted that guy before too on the BLUE but he won't ship to Canada. Then he changed his mind and would ship and wanted to ship with receipt and charge me like $300 to ship. If he does that means I get hit for shipping and they will hit it for Duty and taxes as well. So like another 18% in Duty and 16% in tax. I think I am going to save up for a SHIV at the end of this month. Why I posted in another part of this forum I will never know. I asked for info on three bikes and got unsolicited information on how bike fit is important and I should get a bike fit before a bike. Thanks for not staying on topic. I feel like punching people today. Edited by Techdiver 2014-03-04 8:51 AM |

Bikes have enough adjustable components to where you can fit just about any given bike (within reason) that you want to ride. I hate the "get the one that fits" crowd. I've posted sizing charts to show how similar bikes are in geometry, but people still insist on saying that generic phrase. That same crowd seems to think that you can't train while upgrading your bike either. |

Pro 5761 Bartlett, TN | Subject: RE: TAN #203: TANese New Year - Horsing Around So as some of you know, I raised money for the St Jude Childrens hospital (and some of you graciously donated) by running the marathon this year (before they cancelled it due to weather). Anyways, yesterday I got a package in the mail from them and it had some YurBuds Sports headphones and a Frogs towel in it and they said it was their way of thanking me for rasiing money. To me, this seems weird to spend money to send out gifts to people who raised money when they could put that money back into the hospital. I mean the hedphones are cool and I will use them, but do other marathons or charity races do this???
***I did donate my race entry fee and finishers medal to St Jude instead of getting it back like the majority of runners did. |

Yes for Tour de Cure you get awesome prizes for each tier of money raised ($250, $500, $1000, etc.). I am guessing the charity has a partnership with the sponsor companies and it's all part of their package agreement. Items are likely donated or bought for a super low cost. If a charity can invest $20 or whatever to motivate someone to raise $1000, they definitely come out winning. |

I clicked a few buttons and it was so. She asked, "What did you do?" I responded, "Womenfolk should stand back in awe as men do manly work." Her response was predictable. So how goes TAN today? I am checking the calendar and wondering when spring will arrive. It's March and I'm getting impatient. Yesterday's snow is largely gone today so Tennessee weather has that going for it. I squeezed a bike tire as a gauge of how long it has been since the temp met my criteria for riding. Soft as ... well I won't go there. TW |
