Hello MG! As you may recall this has been a rough year for me at least in part due to the elimination of my department at work. I was worried once I turned down the offer from my company to permantly relocate to Germany.

However, as of today I will be the Director of Patent and Trademark Prosecution for Lenovo! I will most likely start December 10! I did not realize how heavy the burden had gotten until it was gone. Can't wait to celebrate with my family tonight and this is going to be a great Thanksgiving.

Congratulations Doug, must be a big weight off your shoulders!

Congrats to everyone finishing up IMAZ today.

I seem to have had a relapse after feeling better yesterday, and now this crud has moved down into my chest.  I'll be headed to the doctor in the morning.  Since Thursday, I have watched some great football, every BBT episode I can find, some Duck Dynasty, a couple of bad infomercials and some even worse movies.  I have also read the entire IMFL threads from 2012 and 2011; noting they contain a lot of the same info and a lot of repetitive questions.  I figured this would be a good idea until this afternoon when I woke up sweating (again) after dreaming I made a wrong turn on the bike and wandered down some lonely highway in the Florida panhandle.  This dream ended with me trying to find my way back to the course (all the roads looked the same) while being chased by wolves (hanging head, I admit I watched part of one of the Twilight movies).  I'm going back to fb and infomercials.

On a training note, I have done nothing since my HM last weekend, and this week isn't looking good either.  And I am leaving Saturday for a week in Germany (assuming I get better over the next few days).  I guess this month will be my off season.

Hope you feel better soon. I can only say that it is a good thing you didn't watch The Walking Dead , you could have been dreaming about zombies chasing you on the run. Although that would not have been far from the truth some people look like zombies when they were running at IMFL.

Well today is my final day of rest from my surgery. I am feeling pretty good but trying to hold back a little before jumping back into the gym. Don't see the doctor again until next Tuesday to be officially cleared. So this is the longest I have been inactive my entire life. So lessons learned...

  • Ice is my friend
  • TV sucks
  • Even though I had extra time, still seems like there is never enough time
  • One tends to eat more crap when idle
  • My tendency to procrastinate did not get any better
  • Most importantly be GRATEFUL !! that I am healthy and can move, and run, and swim and bike 99.99% of the time.

Congrats Doug on the new gig!!

Also, how has the recovery been going from the injuries? What are the plans for 2013 season?

Well, I ran yesterday. I did 3 minutes walk /2 minutes run for 1 hour. My new coach is rebuilding me with lots of core work, TRX, and stretching. I have a couple of one -on-one sessions in the pool and her drill have really opened my eyes.

I only have one race planned: Raleigh 70.3 on June 2. If that goes well I may do some later races.

And I do not know what Steve was saying there!

You are all so entertaining.

Doug, so happy for your and your family.  Contrats on the new job.

Dino, way to rip it up on the course.

David, hope you feel better soon.  Is Germany for work or pleasure?

Bruce, Glad to hear you have survived the recovery time.  And, thanks for reminding us all to be thankful that we can do all this crazy .

I worked late tonight and then went straight to the gym to run 8 miles on the treadmill.  Fun times.  Can someone add a few more hours to the day?
