Here it is:

last week: 70,6kg
this week: 71,3
up: 0.7kg

As expected my weight is up- not too much but still up and it's just wrecking my head. I know it's my own fault - fries, crisps and sweets are not exactly the best food choices. But there's another great challange I need to face- Easter (which is this weekend). Traditionally we have a big breakfast on Easter Sunday- vegg salad (with mayo), sausages, eggs, ham, cheese and the whole lot. And as Easter gift you get chocolate egg (sizes vary from small to massive) and other chocolate goodies. I'm trying to let people know I don't want chocolate for Easter so hope this will work out. Also I only have 5 weeks left to my birthday trip to Paris and I hoped..... well it's quite obvious.

Weather is beautiful again so I'm off to cycle outside- it's gonna be somewhat funny because I'm still waiting for my new bike so I'm using my a borrowed bike. Hope will come back home in one piece.

Kevin welcome to the group!!

Have a good Wednesday!

What is this new-found love of veggies I see? Oh, Saling! I'm so proud.

Well if I could give any advice, it would be.... be honest with yourself. You will trip up here and there ( from time to time) I still do. You will have times where weightloss seems stagnant. But I like many others get right back into the thick of it and tri, tri, again. Follow the plan, with respect to training, then as far as nutrition feel free to ask anything... Currently, we have a wine connoiseur (enders), a veggie avoider at all costs (Saling), and the human garbage disposal--who'll eat almost anything (no names mentioned). Good luck!

Good advice. And yes, I will cop to being the resident oenophile. (I just like saying that word.)

Use the random accountability (tell us what you ate some day) - we will encourage you, give you advice, and even mock you if necessary. (I'm not mentioning any names either, but I'm remembering back to a discussion on dipping Wendy's fries into Frostys...ewww.)

Welcome!

OK, weighing in...

Last week 145.6
This week 145.6
Change = big lotta nothing....although I was up closer to 150 after my race this weekend. My weight is slowly sneaking back down and I expect to actually end the week with a loss. Whoo whoo!

Welcome Kevin we are all here to help in any way we can.

Last: 151.0

Today: 149.8

Down again: 1.2

Ceade: Relax the mind a little. it will happen.  Since you are new to running outdoors how about instead of run intervals (fast) you try to speed walk during walks.  Boost metabolism a little to change things up.

Enders:  Milk, Protein and Diet Pepsi ....mmmmmm good.

It must be getting cold down THERE if I am eating 2 veggies in one day.  One of my customers is trying to get me to BBQ Portabella mushrooms.  Haven't had the willpower yet.

Nice weigh in for me this week:

Last: 261.5

This: 257 Cool

Had to get on the scale a couple of times, but yeah that was the #.  Looks like I'll be able to hit my goal of 255 by the end of the month.

I saw a program last Sunday entitled (I think) "I Will Make You Thin"

He had some really good things to say about eating.  Here's his 4 steps.  I thought they were good tips.

(1) Eat when you're hungry.
(2) Eat what you want.
(3) Eat slowly and consciously.  (Chew each bite, savor your food.)
(4) When you are full, stop.

I know that I tend to eat really fast when I'm hungry, cause I want the food NOW, but I've been slowing it down this week, with the result that I'm feeling more satisfied.

Last week 160.5...this week 157.8!!!!!! I'm in ths 50s....YEAH!

Down 2.7 pounds (I would be concerned that it was too much but this follows a 3 week plateau.) My secret for teh week...our fearless leader's advice :-) I followed Saling4's advice and did some high intensity trainning last week. I guess I shocked my body a little...and it let go of more than 2 pounds...YES!!!! Ths brings my total weight loss so far to 17.2 pounds since January...hee hee hee hee..I am so tickled

About the book, alll this time, I could have sworn I had already told you guys the name, its not some big secret and I am not a tease...my bad Its called Sports Nutrition for Endurance Athletes by Monique Ryan...definitely worth the 20 bucks I spent on it!

Bummer. I was kind of hoping that the weight would drop, not increase, in the initial stage of my training plan. My body fat % is down 5%, though.

Time to start a food journal . . .

I guess it's better than nothing, especially considering I only got back to the gym on Monday and had made many poor eating choices. Besides...I'm wearing pants that are 2 sizes smaller than the size that I had been in for the last 5 years!

Kevin---Welcome! Looking at your first post, the fact that you asked for bad jokes tells me you're in the right place We've had our share of bad jokes in this group, so feel free to join in at any time.

I am also on the couch (potato) to sprint program. I used to be the poster child for couch potatoes. Training for a tri has changed that...forever. This is a great, albeit crazy, group of people that will encourage you, celebrate your accomplishments as well as give you a good kick in the pants when you need it.

When you start training your body needs more water and may hold on to more, (that muscle building thing) A food journal is a great idea, but also make sure you are drinking enough. It does make a difference.
