First run in Virginia this morning...  The temp is AWESOME!!!  Humidity - that's something new... Definitely not dry Texas heat.  The air is a lot thicker here, gonna take some getting used to.

Regardless---  It is GREAT to be back!!!  Nice easy run today.  Cool

We did find a great house in the Yorktown, southern York county area.  Movers are dropping off the household goods next Thursday.  SOOOOOOO ready to be settled - hotel living "stinks!"

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!!

Went on my first post-IM attempt run this morning.  It felt good but I think I am still really dehydrated.  I need to pay more attention to what I am drinking this week.

I noticed after my swim last night that I had no pain in my knee. This morning I also had no pain in my knee of achillies. I had my longest run of the year scheduled. I ran 1:40:00 today and covered 12 miles! It was great. Started at 6.2 mph . My final mile was 7:41. I really hope this is a sign of things to come.

Thanks Steve, I hope you like it.  And I'm surprised it's there already.  I just made it to the post office before they closed last night.  If you're still coming up to Bellingham for work (and assuming you want some more when that is gone), let me know and you can pick it up and save the shipping.

Matt- I tried to order some today, but the paypal thing was not being friendly. I will try again later...boo.

I had trouble with ordering with Paypal, too. It kept asking me to confirm my address, but then wouldn't accept it.

Is it just with PayPay through our site or do you have issues with PayPal when making other purchases?  Were the shipping and billing addresses different?

If you can't get it to work, send us your order through the "Contact Us" option and I'll get the address to send payment.

We'll get you some coffee one way or another!!

Ok everyone,

My first oly is now "history".  I had a very conservative goal time of 3:45 and finished in 3:28 (unofficial).  The weather was beautiful, although hot (90 degrees at the finish).  We were "just barely" wetsuit legal.

The swim was good.  After the first 200 yards, I was able to relax into it.  I finished the swim in apx 37 min.

The bike was a great bike course with a lot of rollers and a couple of steep climbs (lowest gear and still thinking, "holy crap where's the top?")  But it was beautiful and not windy.  According to my bike computer I averaged 17.1 mph.  I was happy with that ride.

The run. . . oh, the run.  I immediately started having major cramps in my right quad.  Brought me to a halt and had to stretch, and walk, and stretch, and then try to run some more.  Then, my left quad joined this little party.  Thought about crying, but decided to suck it up and act like a big girl :-)  For the first 2.5 miles of the run, it was repeated:  jog, stop and stretch, walk, jog, stop and stretch.  You get the picture.  Thankfully there were several water stations in the first few miles of the run, so I drank and drank and drank.  The last half of the run was better, but it was still a walk/jog combo.  Overall, considering the cramping, I feel pretty good about the whole thing.  At least I didn't quit.

Thanks for all the well wishes, and have a great holiday weekend.  I'm off to shower and take a nap.

completed my sprint and super sprint today. Not going to do that again. Thought I had a decent first race ...time 2:11 I think. and the second one not so good at about 51 minutes. Had nothing in the tank for the second race. Got a little medical assistance after the second one. It was so hot and muggy. Especially for the sprint. The sun was just beating down on us with no shade and no wind. Humidity was very high and we got a thunderstorm downpour after the second race. I could have used that on the super sprint run. RR to come later oce I can look up my stats. I din't bothr checking as I only had an hour and a half between races and had to pump myself full of stuff for race 2. I'm sure I didn't podium in either race. Just hoping I wasn't DFL.
Going to refuel now and lie down for a well deserved nap.

Rob -- sounds like a killer day! I know that, for me, during the run of every triathlon I swear I will NEVER do another tri. Obviously I change my mind (days/weeks later). To finish and mentally get yourself up to do it again within a couple of hours, well, that's tough!! Awesome!!
