Yesterday on the last hill on the ride I went down. Couldn't make it couldn't get unclipped quick enough and went down. Banged up left side. I have road rash on my left arm and left. Huge brusies on my left elbow and knee. This happened on the last quarter mile of the bike. On the top of hill got back on the bike and finished the bike portion. Got into transition and had a hard time getting my cycling shoes out and my running shoes on. I just hurt to use the left arm. Headed out on the run. Everything hurts but I keep going. I going and I think where is the turnaround for the 5k. I keep going a little bit later a guy running the 70.3 asking if I running the sprint. I say yes and then tells me I missed the turn around. I have ran too far. So I trun around and start running back. After I finished went to the medical tent and got cleaned up and iced. So with a crash and runing long I still finished 3 minutes longer than when I did this same course last month. So I feel ok about it. Nice job finishing, but please take care of yourself. Let your body heal before attempting another ride or run..... Yep, I'm not doing my ride tonight. If I feel a little better tomorrow I'll take the little girls swimming. Sit in the kiddie pool and watch them play. Are you talking about your kids or something else...? ![]() |

Sounds like your plan worked and you hit your goals. One question - why a wetsuit for such a short swim? The water would have been cold only for a few minutes until you hit your stroke on the swim... Not real sure, I guess I started using it and never really thought otherwise. In the end over a half mile, I tend to think I get more benefit than the couple extra seconds it takes to get it off in T1. No biggie, probably was a wash time wise over that distance anyway... how do you figure it was a wash? Generally takes an extra minute or so to take a wetsuit off, that would be about 7-8 sec / 100 yd in increased speed from the flotation.. I could be wrong, but it seems like that 1/2 mile is about the break even point... crazy talk! and don't let your coach hear this gibberish either. although he's got a hot wife. with practice you should have you wetsuit off in a matter of seconds. and don't count time heading to the rack as its part of t1. you shouldn't be stopping to get the thing down to your waist. or even slowing much for that matter. so the only time thats counted against you is when you're standing at your rack. again, we're talking seconds. edit. we're talking no strippers here. but even with em' we're talking seconds. and get down here and help me pack! Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ok, I've now done my RR TWICE for the race and twice I go back and it's gone!! I've saved it over and over, and made it public and it's just not there. Grrrrr. I have all of the info as I did the original in Word but I'm sick of typing in my times, rankings, good/average/etc. I will try again in the morning. Anyone ever have this problem with RRs? Or is there someplace where my draft is hiding and I can't find it? I saved it as I went along and at the end and yada yada yada.... |
