I'll be up North the night prior and am planning to be at the resort to ride in the morning (around 8-9ish I guess) - assuming of course my lazy butt gets out of bed.

Hoping the road conditions will be better than last year with the road constructions...

Have not registered yet - but plan to do Muskoka 70.3- for the experience, with the July HIM- Peterborough race as well. Plans are to do Mt Tremblant 2013 full ( again just to finish- er with a smile) , so I thought the Muskoka challenge would give me some 'grit'.

Someone in my swim group was saying that the South/North Portage road was fixed up (I can never remember which one)! Have a great ride!

So, I've been riding today.

First off, I forgot how hilly and difficult it was !!

Road conditions are almost OK. Two things to be aware of:

- The portion of the road where there was constuction is not very pretty. I really don't know if they finished or if they planned to finish this year but it is almost the same as during the race...

- Be VERY careful on Dwight Beach road. During the first part when in descent, there is a huge pothole in the middle of the road. If you're a little bit too much in the middle of the road, you'll be in trouble !

Other than those two points, this ride is still magical. A beast that will eat your legs

Rode the course this past weekend - in 35C weather. It was a touch hot, but luckily it was a bit windy + lots of shade for the last 30km.

Take note for anyone going out to ride the course. South Portage Rd has about a 1.5-2km stretch where they have dug it up and it's all gravel. I would recommend not riding the race tires for any training rides at the moment. Looks like the construction will be there for a while.

Otherwise, this was a great reminder of what a test this course is for the legs. Remember to save something for the last 30km of the ride....oh yeah, and there's a run after.
