Subject: RE: The Cervelo P4....patricia7 - 2009-07-24 1:52 PM A lot of marketing hype, but the fact that there were no Cervelo's in the top 20 in the ITT at the TdF will not help them. I may be wrong but I don't think Cervelo could care less how their team did in the ITT's or TTT. The team was not built around TT's but rather appeared to be looking for success in the road stages (through breakaways and sprints ) and the overall Green Jersey competition. In the past (with CSC ) Cervelo typically had a strong team but the bulk of the hype was around the P3 in the ITT's (under Zabriskie and Fabian ). This year they are getting a ton of exposure with their new road bike. Ultimately, as far as triathletes go I don't think they have much to worry about. Last year in Kona Cervelo had more bikes than the next four manufactures combined (Kuota, Scott, Trek and Felt ) and although some of the new TT offerings will probably cut into Cervelo's marketshare, I doubt that they are too worried whether triathletes are riding the new P4 or any of the other models you will see at races (P3C, P3SL, P2C, P2SL/P1, Dual, etc ).
