Well, after finishing my old bag clean out, it appears they were indeed multiplying under the torn bottom piece. Who knew they liked cold, dark and damp places? I thought they loved to bob and dance enthusiastically in the heights of my messy ponytails. How could I have been so wrong?4agoodlife - 2013-04-08 6:01 PM blueyedbikergirl - 2013-04-08 2:48 PM WHAT???? Yours breed? How much to send me a procreating pair? Mine disappear and have to be routinely replaced!Teejaay - 2013-04-08 4:45 PM blueyedbikergirl - 2013-04-08 2:12 PM
However, the last item on the list is about to be consumed... THREE pair of goggles??? (don't tell Tony) Seems like the 2 of us that do not do triathlon have the least in our bags. I feel I must add more .. maybe some swim stuff .. cuz I do swim .. sometimes. I haven't been able to find any that don't leak so I just keep taking his... don't tell him! Not that he would notice as he doesn't really swim anymore. What's up with all these hair elastics? Do they somehow multiply like rabbits when no one's looking? Erin, I swear I find them EVERYWHERE! Apparently I put them in the various pockets for "safe keeping" or with that thought of "if I put it here, of course I'll remember that's exactly where I put them"... and then I swear they somehow breed in the dark pockets. Then again, maybe I just keep buying more without realizing it? I have been known to be delusional. |

This solution works for me. My daughter's hair elastics however are all over the place....Everywhere. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This reminds me of a scenario I had when a shampoo bottle that popped open and coated the bottom of my bag with shampoo. I just put a LTF gym towel in the bottom and kept using it. I think I did that for a couple months before I finally pulled the towel out and the bottom was perfectly clean. The towel soaked it all up. Procrastination FTW.

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 2 pairs of goggles, a lock, a towel, chapstick, shampoo, lotion, ibuprofen, weight lifting gloves, water bottle, some type of snack, I-pod and various other things depending on the workout I am doing that day. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hair elastics do multiply. I'm shocked I only had 2 elastics in my bag, and 3 bobby pins! I suppose there's one or two everywhere, I just keep transferring them around. I'm pleasantly happy at how much stuff people have in their bags. And yeah, sorry about the 15 minute video. i do go on. In case you don't have 15 minutes to see my train wreck of a tote bag here are its former contents:
In the cosmetics bag in the tote bag:
This is why my video was 15 minutes long. I think my bag is now a couple pounds lighter! |

My swim bag is another matter: fins, pull buoy, paddles, 3 0r 4 pair of goggles and caps..... Closet floor? One is covered with half a dozen pair of running shoes (that's the one in the bathroom that gets the gym and swim bags tossed on them) My bedroom closet floor has bike shorts and jerseys in one corner, run shorts/ sports bras and run tights/ capris in another spot....a shelf of tee shirts separated by long sleeve/ short sleeve cotton vs technical shirt. Mine is pretty low-maintenance compared to some of these answers! The joy of only being a 'crossfitter' and not a triathlete.
I have a separate swim bag for the days I swim for recovery. It's very low maintenance!

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I always have at least two bags in the back of the car. Sometimes a third.... Swim Bag (never goes in the house, only from car to pool and back): 2 Swim suits. 2 pairs of goggles About a half dozen swim caps in varying states of decay Speedo fins Speedo hand paddles Pull buoy Finis Swim Sense metronome thing Ziplock plastic bag for phone/pager in case I want to swim while on call Run Bag: Shoes Hat Glasses Garmin Road ID Indoor run stuff in case I end up at the gym on a treadmill Outdoor run stuff (season specific) in case I get to run after work before heading home Water bottle Ziplock bag for phone so my sweat does not destroy it Towel Bike Bag: Season Specific bike outfit Helmet Shoes (often, if my bike bag is in the car then the bike is in the car too, and the shoes are attached to it) Sunglasses Water bottle A couple gels Ziplock bag for phone so my sweat does not destroy it Towel I have a shave kit that has all the essential toiletries. I just transfer it to whatever bag I grab out of the car. Each bag is emptied and restocked (except for the swim bag) after being used and it goes right back in the car. I never want lack of workout stuff to be an excuse not to train. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() On any given day I can use my gym bag as a source of available food.... however, that also means that I often find soft apples and squishy brown banana's that have sunk to the bottom and been forgotten about :/ |
