Wave #6 isn't that bad.

I can't believe this is so close.  I haven't raced a tri in over a freakin' YEAR.  My last HIM was two years ago!  Time to test out that knee surgery....

In the middle of the waves--not bad I guess.  Still a PINK HAT...ahhh, I hate pink...why always pink! Oh well, so long as it stays on my head this time.

SOOO ready to get to this race, looking to hit a home run...would be thrilled to be top 10 in AG, but more importantly have a good solid race overall!! See y'all in 2 weeks!

I was really worried about being able to even come to Longhorn when the Hurricane was headed our way. Luckily, we were on the good side of the hurricane. Still no power. I'm working on not being dehydrated before the race! LOL! It's a getting hot down here again.

I'm ready (yes, I am ready, trust my training) and counting down the days.

GOOD LUCK Y'ALL! (I'm not even from TX but I threw the ya'll in there just for you).

I will be down there jockstrapping for a girlfriend of mine. Holler if you see me!! I may be toting a BT logo sign around if I get around to putting it on a stick.

PS is there beer at this event? Or a bar within walking distance?

Beer?  They'll be more than 4 BTers together, so yes, there will be beer.

Anyone bringing wetsuits or is there no chance for 78 degrees?

Happy racing!

Just looked at the forum on the Longhorn web site. As of Sept. 24, the temp was at 89 degrees. This was also posted:

The Decker Creek Power Station uses the lake for cooling water (which means water gets returned to the lake warmer than it started). The chances of the hot water tap being turned off are pretty slim!

EXACTLY. Shoot, I did a 7:15 last year and I walked the ENTIRE RUN with a 14 minute mile. So yeah Bonny, stop talking crazy. You can beat my butt on a bike any day and you can run the half marathon with 9 minute miles.
