I'm surprised by the poll results! I loved the show (except for the Usher part - did he sing at all or just show up to dance?)
Obviously you have to take into account the venue, but I though it was amazing and seriously enjoyable. Great choreography, AMAZING costumes, special guests, special effects... I'm not sure what more people want!

I thought it was good.  It was what a Superbowl halftime show should be.  Fun, lively music, crazy outfits and dancers all over the field, lots of activity.  Nobody is expecting musical genius or art here, its the Superbow.  And I agree with Marvarnett...I WANT AN LED BODY STOCKING OUTFIT.  It was fun and entertaining.  Mission accomplished.

But NOT the boxy-head thingy - that would be clumsy to wear, and difficult for seeing.

When they finally get somebody interesting like The Killers or White Stripes to do the show, I'll consider watching it.

the outfits made me think that they got a deal on Tron leftovers.

the actual show was good. but they need to fire the audio/auto-tune person,  It was way off.. No excuse not to know that they are singing/auto-tune in a large stadium and it's going to be different.. There have been concerts in Cowbosy stadium that have sounded great so it's possible, and someone that they could have asked what set up sound wise would work best.

TriToy - 2011-02-07 7:07 AM I think the issue is BEP are a heavily studioed/engineered band so that does not do so well in a stadium.

The 'show' was fine.  The singing? meh

I agree that the "show" part was good. In my opinion it was GREAT!!
The singing part SUCKED, which is prett sad because I love me some BEP. I saw them a year ago, here in Denver. Hands down THE BEST concert I have ever been to!!!!!  What they did last night was nowhere near how they performed in Denver last year.!!!!!!!

I'm glad they changed up the halftime show this year. This is the first year I've actually watched a halftime show since Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.  This year's halftime was still better than the washed up artists they've been putting out there the last few years.

Just my 2 cents

I like musicians who can play instruments and sing without sounding like a robot.

I had a pretty mixed group at my SB party, and 100% of the group that that was horrible.

I enjoyed the old folks last year much better than this years show.

First thing I said to my wife was, "at least they're not lip synching."  Their voices were just really, really off.  Slash was ok.  Fergie seemed to be trying to pull it together some towards the end.  Then Usher came out.  So much for the no lip synching.

I like BEP.  But it made me realize how much studio overglossing they must get  The vocals were just really bad.

I though the dancers with many colored unis were cool though.  That part I did like.

Oh my.  It was awful, horrid, ridiculous, off key, embarrassing, caused warts, hideous, laughable, and they managed to un-hot Fergie.

Honestly, the last SB halftime show that really impressed me was Prince.  The man can play an amazing guitar...and he didn't lip-sync.  That show was really cool.
...plus, as a Vikings fan, it was nice to see some purple on a Super Bowl Sunday since my team hasn't been there in quite some time.

Fergie was the only reason to watch the halftime show...and she didn't even show off her abs! How can she not show off her amazing midsection?

Any artist they have ever had pales in comparison to Springsteen...though, I might be a bit biased.

Skip the whole halftime show and give me 15-20 minutes more of sleep on Superbowl Sunday.

Fair enough.  I did enjoy the spectacle, it was fun to watch.  But the audio ruined it for me.  But I guess that's what most people want out of a Super Bowl half-time show...a sepctacle.

I'm the type that doesn't need lights and fireworks to enjoy a concert.  Just good music.
