Why are bikes Female (Page 2)

Plus to keep them happy, you have to keep spending money on them.

Joking aside, that's pretty much why.

Umm......no........not necessarily. My P2C is DEFINITELY a girl. I just call her sexy girl......cause she is.

I am this way too. My TT bike is a boy (Sir Velo) and my roadie is a girl (Rosie). They are who they are (and I found it difficult to think of a pink & white bike with hearts on it as a dude).

Not unless you buy it 2 or 3 accessories first...

My bike is female, her name is Lady.  I also believe in Santa Clause and the concept that common courtesy should still be a common occurance.

(my car is a boy, too. His name is Fig.)

My mountain bike is a guy, and my pretty new roadie is a chick. She's all tomboy, and if she wore baseball caps she'd wear one backwards and make my stomach do a little flippity-flop thing. My mountain bike is definitely a guy, he is awfully jealous of the new chick, he likes to get muddy and filthy, sulks when he has to go on the road, but is having lots of fun doing my commutes with me in the middle of the night.

Neither one has told me their names. That's okay, I'm patient.

My Bike and my car are both girls. SO much for all girls having guys names for their bikes LOL

I don't name my bikes, cars, mowers, shoes or anything like that.  They already have names that work out OK for me:

Trek, 1500, 2.1, Mystic
Chevy Duramax, Toyota Sienna
Areons
Mizuno

Also, I don't talk to them either.  Not sure why, I just don't ever say a word directly to my bike, cars, mower or shoes.  Funny now that I think actually about it.

I have heard that and One other reason I heard back when I was in the Coast Guard when talking about our Cutters and small boats; was, that like a woman you are in a relationship with you have to take care of her and treat her right or she will leave you (break down).

 

Makes sense to me even with our bikes, if you don’t maintain her she will break down and leave you stuck on the side of the road.
