Everyone is putting Ficker because she's "hot" and Wellington because she won Kona.

But to me there is still no substitute for Badmann other than maybe McGlone.  Both are better athletes than either of the two mentioned above.  And Natascha just epitomizes what the sport is about - class and style and pure joy of competing.  Not too mention she is a hell of a fighter/competitor.

I'm a Ficker fan, I'm just getting into the tri's and when I saw her on TV for Kona she just had that draw to her. She loves competing, people, and life, just kind of got me, the fact that she's attractive didn't hurt. I'm not saying that I'm not a fan of all triathletes though, but as somebody else said, it's favorite not necessarily best. It's hard not to be in awe of any of them though, if it didn't say professional I'd say Sister Madona, watching her graciously be pulled from the race this year at Kona, how can you not respect her? Anyway, pros/AGs, they're all my favorites.

running2far - 2007-12-19 7:19 AM Lisa Bentley - 11 time Ironman Winner, 6 top ten IMkona finishes, and a doll.

Not to mention she's a Canuck!  She is too awesome to watch!

For those into XTerra type multisport, you can't beat Jamie Whitmore......a total stud-ette and cute as can be.

Tough choices....

I like Michellie Jones and Natasha Badmann - they are truly class acts and tough competitors. I find inspiring (especially since we are the same age) - As much as I love the young ones, these two inspire me the most.

for Xterra - I love Melanie McQuaid. She was great to talk to, and another Canuck

When I think of favorite athletes I think of who inspires me the most.  With that said, I have to give it to BTer's own grvfrog.  Anyone who can do a triple iron distance is my hero. Not only did this touch me in October, but I have thought about this many time since--especially when I'm whining about my own workout.

Also, for the men I would have to give it to: MadCow & Aluminum1 for doing the double.  Forgive me if I left anyone else out.

While I'm giving complements,  here's a toast to everyone who supported them!

Ps.  I have added grvfrog to the list.  As in Chicago, vote early and vote often.

The only one I've met personally - in passing - was Heather Fuhr.  I saw her warming up before a marathon recently.  She was nice in person and I like how she presents herself in interviews and the like.

I'm really surprised that Jesse Stenslund hasn't received more votes. She's definitely 'smoking hot' to borrow a phrase........is it a personality thing?....or?

I voted grvfrog. She beat the womens record at the event by like 6 hours in her first attempt at that distance. That's astounding by any measurement. Kudos to all the "pros", but Gina definitely has my vote. And I was there to see the start of it.

Ok, I am the one who added Nina Kraft. I would have liked to vote for Gina, Natasha, Michellie, and Jamie, but had to put in Nina. Yes I know what she did was wrong. The reason I respect her now is when caught she came clean right away. Never once said "It is not my fault, the test is wrong" or anything like that. She did her 2 years that was required by the governing bodies and has come back quitly and strong. She will always have a scarlet letter around her tri suit, but she has taken a beating (well deserved) and come back from it.

Knock me if you will, but that is my take on it.

also noted a large absence of men on this list. Kemper, Shoemacher, and Pots could all be canditates on this list too.

Read the title - it's women only.

(I added Gina to the mens list because I had similar reading issues to you. )

I added Sam Warriner; she's a kiwi (now!) and she's very cool. She comes across really well and is very down to earth, from what I've heard.

I wanna be her!

What kind of friend would I be if I let you make the same exact mistakes I made?

I voted for grvfrog, because, well, she's my fiance.  And if I didn't, I might get in trouble....
