My cat is very attached to me. When I am not home, he opens my wardrobe and sits in it. I go through a lot of those rollers to remove hair from my clothes.

I'm sitting here with my camera trying to take a picture of my cat, but he keeps moving.

Here's a picture of my neice with one of my cats that lives at my parent's house. My parent's have her sister from the same litter as well. (No I am not talking about my neice. )

Ok, ok, I couldn't resist. Cicero is the grey one who looks like he wants to kill someone (which he probably does) and Elsa is the huge orange tabby who is so dumb she once walked into a window.

What is a Cat?
1.  Cats do what they want.
2.  They rarely listen to you.
3.  They're totally unpredictable.
4.  When you want to play, they want to be alone.
5.  When you want to be alone, they want to play.
6.  They expect you to cater to their every whim.
7.  They're moody.
8.  They leave hair everywhere.

CONCLUSION: They're tiny women in little fur coats.

A little chant that I do with my bitchy cat goes like this: Hey, little ittty bitty sh**tty pretty spitty kitty! She loves it.

OH, man, that's the funniest thing I've heard today. I'm never going to remember the full chant, though.

Cat loves and haters alike should check out this site:

www.mycathatesyou.com

Funniest crap I've ever seen. CHeck out the picture archives.

And as for adopting older cats--it's the best thing ever! Elsa was 7 when we got her...it took some adjusting for her, but she is so sweet and it's like we've had her her whole life, PLUS there was none of that furniture scratching, leg grabbing, finger swatting stuff that kittens do. I LOVE kittens don't get me wrong, but I now have a HUGE soft spot for homeless adult cats. I doubt I will ever get a kitten again, actually.

Well ok then give your kitties some love but give your dog more, LOL.

Also the cat does not jump me at 5am and want to go for a run.

Sorry Nancy - I have to call you out here.

All the cats I have lived with (2, and that's 2 too many - I HATE cats) have attacked me while I've slept (try scratching your groin KEEP IT CLEAN FOLKS!! at 3am and having a set of claws attack the moving object under the sheets), yowled at 2am to be let outside, pissed on the carpet because you took too long to get home (not because they couldn't control it, but because they're mad at you), brought dead animals to your doorstep, and yowled at 4am to be let back in.

So what is so good about cats?

The expressions...

"There's more than one way to skin a cat."

Heh-heh.

DZ, cats treat you badly because they know you hate them . Unlike dogs, they don't offer unconditional love. That is part of their charm.

I adore dogs, as well, tho, they just aren't discriminating.

This could very well be the case. I didn't have the hatred of cats until I lived with people who had them. And these were nice people (best friend first during college, then now with wife) who take good care of their pets.

Dogs don't get locked in workshops either, and stay quiet until 3am when they want to get out, requiring you to get up, go out side, unlock the door, let the cat out, relock the door, go back inside, get back in bed, and then try to get back to sleep.

LOL! Things to hate about cats:

Hairballs
In-out-in-out-in-out - and dirty looks if you don't cater to their entering and exiting whims
Waking up with the cat staring at me and scratching my nose
Suddenly deciding they won't eat the expensive cat food that was fine the day before - cat ignores it and yells, the dog ends up eating it
Fur flying vet trips
How you are expected to be at their disposal at all times, and this is not reciprocated
Chasing moths around and knocking over lamps, plants and stuff
Midnight cat squabbles that wake up the whole neighborhood
Marking in the house

As for hunting, well, one of my cats is a good gopher hunter so I don't mind that so much. She doesn't know how to kill them, so I can usually scoop them up and take them to a nearby field.
It's a bummer when she gets a bird though.
