My father used to work in bill collection for a construction contractor. There was a roadbuilder that was overdue and my father was hounding him to pay the bill. At around the same time, it was street-naming time for a development the roadbuilder was doing, and the guy asked him about a road name. My dad was so up in his head the only name he could think of was our last name: Duffield. So that's how Duffield Drive in Trenton NJ got it's name.

There is a street up the way from me, and it is named "Flicker" Drive, but it is printed in all caps so it looks like FLICKER drive. Some kid bridged the gap between the L and the I with a sharpie...

Right down the road from me is Intercourse PA. If you go through Intercourse, you end up in Paradise. If you stop short of Intercourse, you're in Blue Ball.

2. Wackerly Drive 

3. Strip Ave

Unfortunately, all of these are located in the same general area of town...

Years ago, when I lived in the major metropolis of Bell Buckle, Tennessee (pop. 452 after I left), I worked with a long-time resident named Lane Abernathy.  They named the street where we worked Abernathy Lane!

My fiance is from Beaver County, PA. He lives down the street from the hamlet of Big Beaver. Its normal for people around here, but any time I say it to non-Pittsburgh people, they get a pretty big laugh out of it.
