Rotary's made sense instead of just being car sling-shots. Toy's required imagination. Malls were smaller than a square mile. The milkman delivered to the little metal box by the front step, and you could drive by the dairy farm and the garbage man, Mr. McKennedy collected from the waste bucket by the back door and you could go to his farm and visit the pigs. A postcard took a penny stamp. People cared about the value of the penny. Drive-in Movies. Nobody cared about low fat. Food was your friend!  |
