The downside of tracking my eating...realizing what a horrible eating day I had yesterday. I knew it while it was happening, but once I punched the numbers in...well, let's just say it wasn't pretty.

Thank goodness I put "track my eating" and not "eat clean" as my goal. (That's next month's!) Eating is clearly my limiter.

8-9 mile run this afternoon for my other goal.

Knowledge is power, it isn't always easy to accept.

I spent last month tracking my food and it included nutrient info. It was painful sometimes but I know what my specific limiters are and I also know that even with good eating, there are some nutrients I am just not getting. This month is the month of making those changes.

Added a bike workout in the very strong wind today

I had to work hard to maintain 10mph going one way turned around and was cruising at 25mph on the return legs . Sunny and balmy 60F.

Blech. I have had a rough few weeks for that reason -- two rounds of antibiotics in me, and I'm still just crossing my fingers that this bug is licked.

There are some really persistent bugs out there. Mine lasted too long. Get healthy and  I think that ice cream may help

Okay. Now that I am well (so I say. again.), I will join this challenge.

Limiter one: 12 swimming sessions

Limiter two: 12 trainer rides

That's three sessions per week.

YES its the first leg of almost every Triathlon But why else should we swim ?

The buoyancy of the water counteracts the force of gravity, making swimming a perfect low-impact sport that puts little stress on bones and joints.
If you swim for at least 20 minutes straight, keeping up a constant rhythm and speed, it is an aerobic exercise, which helps improve general fitness, stimulates the metabolism and burns fat.
The fact that it's an aerobic exercise also means it improves cardiopulmonary capacity, while the effort needed to overcome water resistance tones muscles.
It's a great way to burn calories: an hour of swimming burns 500 calories.
Our body's natural position is upright, but when we swim, we turn it horizontal; this helps move respiratory secretions, and improves breathing.
Swimming has been shown to be beneficial for asthma sufferers, as it encourages lung function and breathing control.
Swimming balances blood pressure and normalises pulse rate.
It works the body's motor coordination. Over two thirds of the body musculature is worked when we swim, including both the lower and upper body, trunk and head, and arms and legs are forced to make a balanced effort.
Swimming also strengthens joints and improves posture by improving the position of the spinal column. This makes it an excellent exercise for people with back problems.
Last, but not least: anyone can do it. You don't have to be a great athlete for swimming to be beneficial – and fun, too – so come on in: the water's lovely!

Another 3 mile run in the books...although I started tracking my food yesterday (limiter) and then stopped when I ate a work-provided lunch because I had no idea how to account for it. I do so much better when I eat/drink my own stuff (or go to a restaurant so I can get the details)...this was catered in pasta w/ salmon, rolls, salad, & dessert. (And I didn't just eat the salad...).

Still on track for the month though & will track today.
