We can't run, but Patti and I will sign up and then walk a 5-K on Friday in Christine's honor.  I met her in 2006 when I went to run the Gasparilla marathon with Renee.  I spent time at the beach, laughing it up with Christine and the others, then had more fun at dinner that night.  And she ran the first part of the marathon with us before branching off to complete the half mary.  My heart and prayers go out to Tom and the kids and the rest of her family.

Shannon and I will run together either earlier in the day on Friday or sometime Saturday (we will be in a car at 7 PM on Friday). I plan on running in silence - no I Pod and no conversation - just introspective time remembering how fragile life can be.

Good call - was thinking the same thing.

I'm in shock.  I haven't checked in with Christine's log in about a week, and I'm deeply saddened to hear of this tragedy.  Deepest sympathies to Tom and the boys in this difficult time.  I'll sign up for the race tonight and I hope that the family can get some measure of comfort from the number of people who are participating, all over the country. 

Christine handled a myriad of challenges with humor and I'll miss reading her log and seeing her at races.  I'll finish this with a picture to remind us of happier times: Christine, Mike, and I at the HOT in '06, with the trademark Christine smile in evidence.
