Hi team!  I won't be able to do my planned run tonight and I might not be able to do my bike ride tomorrow.  I got a cortisone shot in my knee today and the doc recommended taking today off and possibly tomorrow.  I'll try to make up the time on upcoming workouts so I don't fall too far behind schedule.

How is everyone else doing?

sorry about that shot - sounds painful!

I'm stayin on schedule - kinda... I did a 34 min swim today - finished the whole work-out that the coach had planned for us, but I had scheduled an hour for the swim... hopefully, I underscheduled a different swim.

Ouch! That sounds painful. Why did you get tat shot exactly? You had a problem with your knee? Just asking because sometimes mine is causing me problems ...

I ran the Marine Corps Marathon in October and had horrible pain in my knee after.  I went in for an MRI and it looked like I had a lateral meniscus tear.  I've been doing PT since November to strengthen my quads, but really haven't been able to run or bike.

I saw an ortho doc in January because it was getting worse.  3 weeks ago, I got a cortisone shot in my ITB as that was the site of most of my pain.  More PT and ITB stretches.  I started having pain directly under my knee cap when I was biking or walking.  It kind of feels like someone hooked a finger under the knee cap and is poking on things.

Saw the ortho doc today.  He thinks it isn't tracking right because my quads are kind of week from not really using them.  He gave me another shot (this time under the knee cap) so that I can return to running and biking (SLOWLY!!) to help strengthen the muscles and see if that helps the kneecap stay in place.  If not, we'll probably try a strap to keep it in line.

Wow...that was kind of long.  But, if you have more questions, let me know.  I'd be happy to help as much as I can.

Ok I'm new at this, so "as usual" is foreign to me.  Sign in where? I'm probably making this harder than it is---I'm pretty good at that. Never mind! I figured it out!

Now I just have to work on the table-thing post to my log.

I just got back from my morning run, nothing like a run to start the day!

How is everyone doing today? What's on the plan for today?  Personally I had a run and I have master swimmers tonight.

GOOD MORNIN'!  I love early workouts---but the schedule I've going with The Man it turns out that I'm mostly later morning, or after noon...different-er than last year.

I have no workout scheduled today...however I plan to hit some ST & core in prep for looooong day tomorrow + bit o'yoga.

I hope you all have a peachy keen day!!

I'm going to try an easy ride on the trainer tonight and see how that goes.  I know the PT has helped a lot, so I have to stick with that.

Oops I didn't check this thread for a few days and need to get on the ball.

I'm Kathy going into my 6th tri season with my A race Ironman Canada. Married long time to Kevin who is training for his first tri and have 5 kids 10-19.

I have a coach and get my training plans weekly so will update my plan weekly.

This week thru 2/8:
4400 yards swimming
17 miles of running
4:30 on the trainer
plus strength training one session

So far I'm on target and have two extra swims in.

Hmm good question, I guess I was logged with my account and not the btchallenge one this morning when I cut and paste the link.

Google document is unavailable from the office so I can't  check it as of now, I will take a look at it tonight. Or if someone else could check and post the link that would be cool

Try going to docs.google.com and logging in.  You'll get a list of all the challenge websites.  I usually add myself as a user so that it makes it easier to update later.

I just checked and it's working for me, so my guess is that you are not logged in as btchallenge so you can't edit the spreadsheet.

Maybe make sure and if it's still not working let me know.

Morning team

I just came back from my morning run, a bit cold today but what can I do about it anyway.

I went to the pool yesterday night for master swimmers, I tried to get as many meters in as possible to fill for the session I missed at the begining of the week. I will get those meters in, whatever it takes

What is everyone up to today?

I have a friggin' 3 hour ride today, and I'm trying to figure out how to get it all in....I'm thinking load the truck with trailer and bike, head to Wash Park----'cause there is a route I know that is protected throughout---ride for 2 hours minimum.  Then eventually this evening, make up the remaining hour in spin + run?

Here's hopin'.

...and the toddleator won't take off her leotard.
