I'll throw my 0.02 in, even though it's pretty much against what everyone else is saying...
I think it has to do with the level of numbness before I run to the Doctor or not. I don't think that if you lost some sensation for a day, you need to race over to the doctor as if it's going to fall off. If you can't feel ANYTHING, then by all means, GO.
However, My junk was a numb after my IM
(or I should say, lost some feeling
). That was the longest ride I had ever done and the next morning, I realized I had lost some sensativity. It was like that for the next couple of days, but I also noticed improvement. I will also say that it took about 2-3 weeks before it felt completely normal again.
On a subsequent visit to my doctor, I discussed it, and they said I had probably done some damage, and it took time to heal, but no long term damage was done.
That being said, I adjusted my saddle which solved the problem...
What concerns my about the OP, is that it was a 30 minute ride. 30 minutes in the saddle should NOT do that much damage, IMO. Also, I would NOT ride again without making changes... In my case, I did the damage, healed and made adjustments to the bike befor riding again. I would not keep injuring it if at all possible.
