Just signed up.  #3 at CDA for me and will be #4 assuming I finish Lville this year.

I'm having a hard time with the on-line entry...did anyone else have a hard time. I didn't get a confirmation so I am on hold with Active right now. I hope this is the hardest part of my IM adventure...lol

Funny (I am not in) but I noticed they don't let you put in your own occupation anymore.   So, no more lingerie quality control testers and kitten jugglers?

I know ... and I was particularly bummed in that I signed up a friend for the race this afternoon and had some doozies ready.

Where is WTC's sense of humor?

I am in for round #2 (did IMCDA 2008). Almost changed my mind after spending most of yesterday volunteering at T2. It was COLD with the wind from the lake. Hope for better race conditions in 2010.

Can't worry about the weather and/or water temps too much.

2007  80 degrees
2008  78 degrees
2009  54 degrees

I would say we are in for a 85-90 degree day in 2010 with partly cloudy skies and winds from the sout/southwest at 10 mph.

I was so worried that IMCDA was going to sell out right away. Hopefully the weather will be better than this year's.

I am so excited I can't wait to start my IM training...lol I guess I had better keep on with my HIM training. It will be my first and I don't think I'm very well prepared. I haven't been able to run for the last two weeks. I will try runnng this weekend to see what happens. My HIM isn't until August so I have time

I'm in, as of yesterday AM! My first full distance race.

So stoked, but my poor ITB hobbled knees are never gonna forgive me for this...:P  Let the fun commence, hehehe.

Btw, while the video is not about him but instead the race, the Atlanta CAF person that is referenced a couple times is Scott Rigsby.  He is a double amputee who attempted CdA last year only to crash on a mismarked turn, the resulting injuries had him pull out of the race at mile 12 of the run with a cracked vertebrae.  (WTC extended an invitation to him to compete in Kona the following October where he was one of the inspirational athletes features in the NBC coverage.)

Scott is an awesome guy with an awesome heart.  He embodies all that it means to be an Ironman.

I think I am in. I pre-paid in Boise but Active.com wants me to pay again.

Any ideas what is up with that?

I entered yesterday. It will be my first... something I have wanted to do for, oh, a gazillion years. Just did my first HIM (Victoria). Nervous and excited.

Any altitude comments on those who have done it already? I live at sea level (Seattle area)... wondering if I should be worried about this/finding a way to train for it?

I live in Chicago.  I did the race last weekend and no issues with the altitude.  I had more problems with the hills as Chicago isn't known for it's hilly terrain   Good luck with your training.
