I met her at an event last year-- very cool and down to earth. She very politely and enthusiastically answered every question that anyone asked her, even some that were kinda ridiculous. And not terrible to look at, just sayin...

That story brought tears to my eyes (I'm such a sap for triathlon camaraderie). That's so great that you and your daughter got to experience that! Ficker and many of the other top triathletes set such a great example and are top role models. That's one thing that makes this sport so unparallel.
