that sucks about you feeling like crapola. weather heating up here and training (and soreness) is picking up. rain seems to get in the way more often lately. dooley probably is an upgrade from kiffin.

now i'm off to go ride!

Speaking of rain...wow, we got it bad yesterday.  Nice to see the sun again and the temps are suppose to reach low 70's this weekend.  Definitely going to ride this weekend no matter what.  I got to get in gear...

Dooley will be good for TN.  I don't know much about him, but I'm excited.  Kiffin was a huge disappointment!!

Just got registered finally.  It's not very far off.  I hope we get some decent weather in the next couple of weeks.  I'm ready to get a good ride in.

It hit me like a tone of bricks when I rode outside this weekend finally.  Man, that trainer made me a wuss...I was feeling every bump in the road and every car that whizzed by.

Overall, it felt good getting outside...just got to get my balance back while in the aero...lost it a bit...

I am racing it for the first time in quite a few years. Goal is to get some endurance back and loose a few of the lbs that have managed to gather in my mid forties! So far so good.

I really really hope that this windy weather blows away before the race. Had to hang onto the handlebars firmly today to keep the front wheel under control.

I'm ready for some decent weather.  Here in central Alabama all week has been great.  Yesterday several guys that I train with went on a 48mile ride.  About 15 miles into it the temp dropped and it started raining and we had a head wind of about 10 mph.  I hope it builds my endurance.

Right there with you on that one!!  I rode Sat and felt like I was all over the place!  At least we had a taste of the 60 degree weather...actually got burned on my forearms by the sun...

Yes the warmer weather was nice. Actually rode without leg warmers for the first time in a while. I wore sunscreen, but was really red from the wind for a day. I was glad I'd gone on a group ride. Only 3 of us for 10 miles of it as we added on, but it meant I was on my road bike which does not have fat down tubes or deep wheels for those cross winds.  Riding East was horrendous.

I hope BHam weather is good for Powerman.  I'm heading up for the offroad du a week from Saturday.  I absolutely love riding Oak Mountain and am looking forward to a short break from the road. I did the short XTerra there 2 years ago. The run was steep to say the least.  That's going to be a bear.  Wondering how that long climb on the bike will be after "running" a steep 5k. Gulp.

I had it for a short time.  I ended up buying a new pair of shoes (Mizuno's) and it went away.  I have talked with people who have never had it and some who run with it all the time.   It sucks!!Yell

Just had my first ever case last week. It started to hurt after my Wed night run and really really hurt in the morning. I have very high arches. I got some tan colored Dr. Scholl's inserts that said they were specifically for PF and put them into my work shoes on Thursday.  Nearly immediate relief!  I got 2 more pairs, one for my running shoes and one for a pair of slip on shoes that I am now putting on before I even get out of bed. Guessing that my shoes just did not have enough arch support. I've run a total of 18 miles since then with only minor discomfort. Hope you get it resolved.

I stayed at the boardwalk last year and it made it very easy due to the fact everything is located there.  It is not the best of quality though.  I am staying in a condo about a 1/2 mile away this year.  If I were going without my wife I would probably stay there again.  For the money you spend there you could stay in just about in any condo.

I reserved at the Holiday Inn Resort. They have a kid's suite option which works for us since my boyfriend's 16yo daughter is coming and bringing a friend. Looked like it more ammenities that the girls might enjoy. It also got better reviews on cleanliness. Wouldn't bother the bf if it were not spic and span, but it makes me uncomfortable.

One word of caution on the condos...check for cleaning fees. Quite a few of them have some pretty high cleaning fees that they are not included in the advertised rate.

vrbo.com or homeaway.com are handy resources for finding condos for rent...I've used one or the other the last several trips my family has done.

Still having PF problems? Did you try some insoles in your normal shoes? I also found that taking 25mg of Magnesium a day seems to help some of my muscle tightness. I started to be less sporadic about it when the PF kicked in and I suspect that also helped.  I guess tight calves are a contributing factor.  Good luck.
