My name is Quincy, I live in Chicago, and with the exception of one late season sprint last year I am a total newbie! Mostly a runner until now. Married with two little kids, currently out of work (sometimes I get paid to fly airplanes, but not lately). Ex-Navy pilot. Got an ambitious season of running and triathlon (and some biking) planned for this year! Picked my races as a sort of Chicago bucket list since we are trying to move somewhere warm... Thanks for including me. Q Thugs? Hm. Andy - I think he's talking about you. LOL Edited by D001 2010-01-31 11:33 AM |

I have a couple races this spring that involve beach running, so I need the practice, besides, I do love it. My other goals are to get comfortable with my clipless pedals, and be more consistent with yoga and strength training. Best of luck everyone! On the BEACH????????????? Wow. I am SO jealous. |

Soak in some warm sunshine for me! I am so happy I moved south. Of course, I need to go MORE south. Running on a warm, sunny beach sounds realllllllly nice. |

I know of one in Virginia Beach that starts with a 1/4 mile run on the beach, goes straight to an ocean swim (so you have to carry your goggles, etc), then you run across the beach to the boardwalk and transition into a 5k. |

Master 2042 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge Oh, boy! I missing logging into BT for 24 hours and I'm already behind on the posting! Anyway, my name is Rhoda, age 35, with 2 kids (3 and 5), and work full time. I therefore tend to train at odd hours! I've been doing sprints for a couple years and did my first Oly last year. I finished but the run was not pretty. Admittedly, I was not as prepared for the run as I should have been. I'm still trying to decide what races to do this year... do I stick with sprints which I truly enjoy? Or do I try to redeem myself in the Oly?... Either way, I have time to decide and and am just trying to maintain some sort of base through the winter. I probably should have made running my love just to force me to do it more. But I really like biking more, even if it is on the trainer. I get to catch up with my 24 episodes! |
