Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yes, the sisters could tone it down a few decibels. I thought it was hilarious when the other team mocked them - it was spot on! Often teams will say they have a disadvantage being women, and they use it as an excuse. For whatever reason it motivates the twins and they are very strong. I think they are also maybe taller than average for a woman, which I find is often a factor in why men tend to do better on some physical challenges. For instance, a smaller person in stature would have struggled more with the chairs because they would have dragged of the ground. The team that won is clearly very physical. I was so-so on them but, again, the mocking was so funny. I appreciate that over being outright mean, like can happen between teams. It's a fine line, though. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I agree. I don't like the events that let everyone catch up, such as waiting for a business to open in the morning or everyone taking the same flight. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Jtiger - 2012-10-15 2:03 PM ChineseDemocracy - 2012-10-15 11:15 AM I was a little torn at 1st with this week's elimination...sure, the eliminated team was okay to look at...but listening to them made my skin crawl. Could they have gotten any more rude? Do they really think screaming helps when there is a language barrier? I hate when nice looking ladies are eliminated, but I love watching rude people get the boot!
I was thinking the same thing. If only the monster truck driving luggage pulling team would go next I'd be happy. The Chippndales team is pretty likable. Yep. The monster truck guy is just too cut-throat for my taste...his wife just seems to be along for the ride there. I'm not a fan of their team. The Chppendales seem nice. I've got no beef with them, but I was surprised they didn't take the other challenge with the metal work...they chose a feather bed! What? The laid-back rockers are cool in my eyes. I like 'em. I'm blanking on the name of one of the blondes. At times she looks super cute, but other times not so much. She seems to make a good teammate. The twins are tough...make no mistake about it, they are ultra-aggressive, but they motivate each other very well. They're a force on this show. So far, I'm rooting for the rockers...what band are they from, anybody know? |

Sensei ![]() | ![]() rrrunner - 2012-10-22 3:02 PM I agree. I don't like the events that let everyone catch up, such as waiting for a business to open in the morning or everyone taking the same flight. That's what turned me off this show from season one and I never watched it again. I only watch it this time because we know the Chipendales and it's fun to cheer for friends. A team will work their butt off to get ahead, but the producers always bunch them back together again with some event that everyone has to wait for (such as the examples you mentioned). Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The word Twiney sounds like nails on a chalk board every time I hear it. As far as the show allowing everyone to catch up, I think it has to be that way for two reasons. First, with out it one team could quickly run away from the pack. It is this part that keeps everyone on a equal playing field. Granted this is a disadvantage for strong players and an advantage for week players. The second, the amount of planning required to properly space appropriate flights and tasks would be nearly impossible. I dont think you could plan it out and I would think flight times would change between the time you planned everything and the time you ran the race. |

I dont think you could plan it out and I would think flight times would change between the time you planned everything and the time you ran the race. That's it, simple logistics. Challenges can turn on anyone. So Team #1 could gain a lead early, but loose it late... if all you did was keep track of challenge time. But after a few stages.... you would open up huge leads on travel time alone. Team #1 could get a flight that nobody else does and gain twelve hours by stage three. there is absolutly no you you could garantee equal travel time by the end of the race... that it would all come out in the wash and things would be even. It's a stage race. Each stage counts, don't be the last. the entire production crew has to go along, and things happen. I'm sure flights get delayed or cancelled in other countries and the entire production has to scramble to keep up. It would be a logisitical nightmare for the race to spread out and have everyone straggle along over a couple of days. For the sheer competition of it, I like themm bunching up. Keeps it fresh, keeps everyone fighting, keeps everyone engaged. |

Master![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() The twins voice pitch and volume kills me. I find I'm annoyed by the pitch of voices as I get older. Character flaw I suppose. I don't have anything against the twins other than their volume and annoying voice. I always think it's in poor taste to pat yourself on the back to hard just because you are a girl team. You choose to race this race as an all girl team. Don't use it as a crutch and if you fall behind don't be mad just get better. They seem to be doing well so far but that can change quickly and it will be interesting to see how they handle that.
I'm kind of glad that david and goliath went home. The tall guy seems kind of mean but maybe it's just me. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Okay, I finally got back from Hawaii and caught up on the last two weeks of episodes. I agree with much of what was said about the last few episodes...the schoolteachers were long overdue to depart...the taller one especially seemed whiney. I am mixed about the large number of "gather ups". On the one side I think it means you can't accidentally win the race because you have one good day. You have to have 90% consistently good days for most of the race...and 100% near the end. If there were no "gather ups" then a bad team could have one good day and stay ahead of the pack forever without really deserving it. That being said...there seem to be TOO many gather ups sometimes and that saves some bad teams like the school teachers for too many legs. Did I miss it or has there not been a non-elimination leg yet? I think there are several very strong teams that I would like to see win...of the teams remaining I only dislike the monster truck team...and really, I only dislike the male half...he's kinda rude and not very nice. His wife seems nicer, but she doesn't stop him from being a jerk. Can't wait for Sunday! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Interesting...non elimination leg when there was no travel involved... Seemed like a fairly straightforward leg...just tasks and not too much complicated "find this". I'm glad it was non-elimination...I like the goat farmers. Though, they don't seem to be a very physical team. We'll see if they survive their speed bump. I've seen the speed bump be something super duper simple that takes almost no time...and I've seen it be more time consuming. Chippendales got lucky that the goat farmers had such a hard time with the scale thing. What was with the second place team being upset over second place? It will be nearly impossible to beat the 8 leg winning mark...not even worth striving for. They should be more concerned about making it through each leg...not winning every leg. If that was the case why didn't they try for the fast forward? No way they were going to make up the time today with as straight forward as the leg was. |

Getting upset over not finishing the leg first is foolish. Just don't be last.
They were due for a non elimination leg and I was hoping this was it since the goat farmers are very likable. Overall good episode. I can't believe the James and James forgot a few bamboo stalks. With their physical advantage that task was made for them but foolish mistakes like that can cost you. Glad they survived.

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Generally I like the tasks this season. There was a run for a few seasons of the tasks being too simple, in my opinion. Take a taxi here, find a guy, get a clue, move on. I like it when they have to DO something. I love Jaymes! He seems so nice (Kido, he's the one who is your friend, yes?). He and James seem to struggle a lot and I fear they will come to their end soon. Too bad. I wish they showed the arrival times of each team so you can see, on that episode, how far apart they are/aren't. I am just curious. I can say one thing for sure - I never want to visit Bangladesh. Wow, rough life. I am glad the Dating Divorcees (cannot remember their names...) reflected for a moment on that. |

Very true on the conditions talk about a literal sweatshop weaving the fabric. I hope Jaymes and James last longer.
I still can't stand the twins voice.

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I thought it was kind of a ho-hum leg. One of the reasons I watch this show (I watch very little TV) is to see new places and new things. It felt like a continuation of the last leg. With so few legs overall to get around the world, they seem to have lingered rather long in this neck of the woods. |

They do this once in awhile...and typically in a country where no one really speaks English or has smart phones to at least make it somewhat more challenging. I noticed this time though that they had a "marked taxi stand" which indicates to me these were specially chosen taxis...the drivers also seemed to know exactly where to go...no one got lost. But, yeah...I think it's more fun when they at least take a train or SOMETHING to a slightly different area! At least make them negotiate the train station! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() News Flash: I dont like the twinnies. I feel like the farmers dont belong on the show, considering they have had their own reality show. Still dont have a favorite team and not really feeling this season. I liked the divorcee couple until the " we have to get 9 wins". No you dont, you have to win one leg and only one leg, the rest of the time just stay alive. Felt really bad for the white lion guy. What a horrible place to be to find out your Dad has terminal cancer. I think they are my favorites, mostly cause I rocked out to their songs as a kid. Anybody else think the uniform guys at the sweat shop were armed guards making sure everyone was working? The workers in the factory reminded me of the scene in temple of the doom, where every one was slaving in the caves. |

I watch way too much tv and when nothing is on I watch random channels. Their show was the fabulous Beekman boys. It is/was, not sure if it is still on, about their struggle moving from the city life to farmers. They managed to prove quite resourceful from what I could see in the few episodes I watched. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fabulous_Beekman_Boys I am not a fan of reality stars taking a slot from regular Joes on the show. This is not the first time they have done this. THis season they seemed to have doubled down by using the rock stars and the beekman boys. While I like the rock stars, I would rather see another team kentucky or the a team like the two guys from Alabama (think that is where they were from). |

Rather fascinating actually...no wonder they seem so well grounded and calm! I thought I knew which was which but now I'm second guessing myself. I thought the tall one was the one on the farm all the time. But according to the wiki the one on the farm all the time is the doctor, and I thought the short one was the doctor. Now I'm all confused. I'll have to listen for them to say their names next time. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I did find the TV show info and tried to DVR it - sadly, I don't have the Cooking Channel at home. Their web site is interesting. I am confused about who is who, too. On the last show, I swear the little one (Brent) said he works in the city during the week, which contradicts wikipedia saying that Josh lives in NYC. I almost want to resurrect my deleted episode from TiVo and watch that scene again. Brent is (was) the doctor and he worked for Martha Stewart in some health related role. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Okay, yes...Brent is the short one. Not sad to see Monster truck leave. Good hustle by the goat farmers...getting out and directing traffic...AWESOME. That's way better than sitting around whining that your cab stinks! Fairly straightforward leg otherwise. Now I kinda like all the teams left...I will start being really really sad as people get eliminated. Next week looks like some definite drama and shake ups...missed connections and a missing cabby???? |

No they didn't "steal it". The guys "lost" it. but it was right then right there. the twins KNEW it was theirs. The other team KNEW it was theirs. If they saw them drop it and didn't say something that is one thing, but they scooped it up as soon as they got up.... ERRRR I'm sorry... I don't need to cheat, you to beat you. I can't wait for karma to catch up with them. And then... what an awesome scramble by the guys. Scrounged up some money and didn't really even loose much time. See... that's karma. Moster trucker... ya he doesn't follow... he leads.... his way right to the end of the race. No way I could wait on a train like that in a race. Chipendales made the right decision to bail. Great hustle. Goat farmers... ya it was tight and they were just sitting in the cab and even I thought... run to where there isn't a traffic jam and get another cab.... but what a great hustle by them to get traffic moving... maybe it wasn't THAT bad... but still, they didn't just sit there, they did something. |
