Amazing Race - There will be SPOILERS (Page 2)

It was pretty uneventful. I think the father & son wasted their express pass. Fishing is, physically at least, about as easy as you are going to get for challenges on AR.

Going from NZ to Bali... Almost an ode to Yanti...

at the start they showed him in a clinic of some sort and said he needed to get it scanned further and he did and the doc confirmed it was a tendon and muscle torn I think.  It was mentioned pretty quick and easy to miss.

Ya... but did you guys know that both the father and son survived cancer?

They did waste the pass... you knew it was going to be some easy fishing. Probably a stocked pond.

I always thought the Express Pass let you right to the chek in point, meaning you had to do zero tasks????

I agree, pass wasted.  They were more interested in winning the stage than prolonging their game; they must have made that as a conscious decision.  Otherwise they would have given the fishing a real try knowing they were ahead of all of the teams!  If they were already mid-pack, maybe... I can see going for it.  But the were quite ahead.  I hope they enjoy their bonus vacation. 

Interesting perspectives.  I thought the father/son played it okay.  They know their time on the show is limited.  It's just not possible to win the entire game with one team member on crutches.  They gave the challenge a go (messed up by not realizing there'd be a clutch)...and went to the pond.  If ya noticed, Alabama team didn't catch fish super fast.  It would have taken father/son a while to catch fish...they didn't look like naturals out there.

I am glad they've got a prize vacation guaranteed.  Now at this point, dad's got 2 options, go home-get surgery-rest.  Or, (what I think he'll do) tough it out on crutches for another leg or 2 of the race.  Dude's gonna have some major bruising on both sides of his flank from those crutches!  Well-earned though.

Now, I'm just rooting against Jessica and the spikey blonde smiley guy.  They're just too cut-throat for my taste.  They could use a lesson from the brothers who won the last race.  

Annoying young internet couple, annoying country singers...I'm struggling to find likeable teams this year.  I'm rooting for the hockey players because they've got forces aligning against them.

It's OK if they just wanted a first place. I would have ditched those crutches by now... he has a boot. I get it if it hurts... but so does crutches after about half a day.

Blond smiley spikey guy sucks eggs. I really don't like him. Agree on who else is annoying.

Hockey players seem cool, and roller derby moms seem cool. The two sisters are not that bad.

Alabama is cool, but the wife... wow. That's a lot of luggage to carry around the world.

Ha, Alabama guy...did ya'll notice after he went through the molasses and chicken feathers, I didn't see a single feather stick to that monstrous quaff of his!  I don't know why I found that so funny, but I did.  It was like the mullet had a self-defense system built in.  

Finally just caught up with last night's episode by watching online.

I tend to think they wasted the pass.  Unless they were just THAT bad at fishing...

If I were them and the pain wasn't excruciating (and honestly, I never saw the dad grimace...he doesn't APPEAR to be in significant pain) then I would keep going until I was eliminated.  I don't think they have a chance to WIN because eventually they will need physical capability from both of them for a challenge OR the dad will HAVE to do a roadblock (to keep it even) and he just won't be able to.  However, stranger things have happened and I think I would keep giving it a go...never know if you could keep the lead through this next leg and win another prize.  I would let the race eliminate me...not eliminate myself from the race.

Love legs where they have to drive themselves...makes for nice drama.  Pretty decent challenges on this leg too.  Can't wait for next week!

I'm with you on not liking anyone this season.  I  like the father and son but it looks like their time is limited and the country singer girls are nice to look at but that's about it.  The asian girls are annoying, newlyweds have very punchable faces,  etc. 

Was there a token old or gay couple this season?  Usually there are both every season without fail. 

So is this a "double leg"?  Or are they counting it as one leg?

My interpretation is that despite giving the dad/son a "win" and prize, the leg is not over.  There is no rest, so the "whole leg" is comprised of what we saw last Sunday PLUS what we will see next Sunday.

Which in at least one preview includes the dad/son...so they DO keep racing...using their express pass on that leg (in hind sight) gave them a good lead for the second half...

They do keep racing, so they did really luck out in that way. 

I wonder if it occurred to them that they were due for a non-elimination leg...hasn't been one yet, so it's nearly time!  Again, can't predict anything...they felt threatened so they used their express pass...it is what it is....

I am pretty sure they did it so they could get the stage win.  They either said that, or strongly implied it at one point.  Why I remember that one statement, when so much else slips by, is a wonder.

Whether that's the "best use" of a pass is up for debate, but to them it was. I think they looked seriously bummed to keep going. I am pretty sure dad was ready to toss it in.

Yeah, I wonder if they went to the mat intending to quit after winning and didn't realize that it would be a continuing leg...but then say "well, might as well keep going until the race eliminates us"...

I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I thought the last episode was kind of "blah".

If it wasn't for the "Derby Moms", I wouldn't have a favorite team at this point. I really would like to see the "tan-o-rexic" couple out of the race. And, I'm a little tired of seeing pro athletes/celebrities on these reality shows......that's why they have Dancing With The STARS & CELEBRITY Apprentice! Just my 2 cents.....now i'm off my soapbox.

Looking forward to tonight's episode. Kudos to the dad for staying in the game with a torn muscle!!
