And it will have an end. This will all be fodder for a good set of stories. How's your wife holding up? We went through a major remodel/build (moved a barn and converted it to a uber green house). It went way--and I mean WAY--over budget. It was the most stressful long-term (2.5 years) thing I have experienced. I really feel your pain, man. It sucks. Thank you all. We love the house and property (about 6.5 acres). She's holding up fine. The real test will be having to move out of our old place and into a condo for about 2 months till it's livable. 2.5 years! Wow. Now I feel lucky. I'll keep posting pics as it progresses if you guys want. Or if you're bored of them tell me and I'll stop. No hard feelings. I love the pics and the updates. I think once you've lived through something like this, it becomes very interesting to you (just like so many things, I guess). We ended up--totally by accident--breaking ground on the house and having the first day of our new non-profit on the same day. I really don't recommend that;) It has worked out, but there were many, many days that I didn't think it would, and thought we were going to lose out a&^! We started building in 2007, and when the economy tanked, we had some scary days. I'm glad your wife is OK. Some of the worst stories I've heard have been mama-meltdown stories. Do you have kids? Amazingly resilient little stinkers, those guys. The condo life might not be that bad, actually. Maybe it will give you guys a chance to purge stuff you don't need? Though moving twice in two months blows:/ Sorry. What is SRQ? Is that Sarasota? |
