Do you all overlook the disgusting fact that SOMEBODY HAD SEX AND LEFT A USED CONDOM IN A PLAYGROUND?

Blaming the "idiot parents" and the "idiot kids" is pretty misguided...Sure I should worry about many things at McDonalds- but my child even finding a sperm-filled condom should not be one of those things.

This is disgusting.

for reals.  just icky.

You don't have to have sex to fill a condom...

OK I take it back, you aren't the perfect parent. A perfect parent wouldn't let someone else raise their kids. Typical `I'm rich and I can send my kids off to be raised by someone else and I will mock people who can't' attitude. Typical.

Typical? Again....you don't have kids so you can't comment.

Our maid makes sure the house is clean.....no worries about them getting dirty.
Our chef makes healthy meals for the kids so they don't have to eat mcdonalds
The nanny makes sure the kids are happy and taken care off.

I'm not mocking....just saying. Kids need to be watched and provided for. If you can't inspect someplace they're going to play in before, then don't be surprised if they get into something. Our nanny is given STRICT orders to make sure that where the kids play is clean. In fact, I'll have her call ahead to any public place to have them sanitize and clean before they get there. I have people....and when you're me...and you get a call from my assistant and/or nanny, you jump. It's just how this world works.

We had a nanny for our kids when we had three of them under the age of 4 and couldn't afford day care......a 70 year old black gal...."Miss B"......if that would have happened on her watch, I promise you, McDonald Employee's would have been running for cover.

But back to the issues.....

McDonalds will settle with them for probably half that amount.....and I'd bet her winnings (the $17,500 that she gets after att'ys fees.....my retained attorney charges 30%, not sure what y'alls do) that she continues to go to McDonalds and continues to let her kids play, unattended in the playground.

From a legal perspective the customer at McDonald's has a reasonable expectation that the playground would be condom-free.

I watch Law & Order. I know what's going on out there.

It's amazing I am not allowed to have an opinion about kids unless have them.

I don't own a pit bull/fighting dog, but I have my opinion about them.

I have opinions about guns and nuclear weapons.  Last I checked, I don't own an ICBM.

I have opinions about how Bowman/Elway manage the broncos, but I don't own a NFL team.

If you don't have Cancer, you can't talk about it cuz you just don't know.

New rule, if you don't have personal experience or have/own something, you can't speak about it AT ALL.

Personally, I would think that I could expect the playground of a McDonalds, you have the reasonable expectation your kids should be safe and not have to stare at them unblinking if they play there.

I also expect my kids to be safe in their beds and I can go to sleep and not hover over them staring.  But kids die of SIDS all the time.

I expect my kids to be safe at schools, so I don't stand in the back of the classroom (or my nanny) to keep tabs of them 24/7.

But I don't have kids, so I guess I don't know.

I think the point was that someone without kids can't really speak authoritatively about parenting... not that they can't have opinions about kids.  There is a difference.

BTW, what exactly is a "fighting dog" is that kinda like an "assault weapon".  Seeing, you know, that any dog can be raised to be a fighting dog, and any gun can be used in an assault.

In many cases yes.

The problem is uninformed opinions vs informed (even without real life experience) opinions.  Too many people talk from the heart/gut feeling than knowing facts.  But such is life.

They can't?  Teachers who went to school, and deal with kids maybe MORE than parents do can't speak authoritatively?

Counselors or others trained people?  What about brothers/sisters that had basically take care of their little brothers sisters with absentee parents?  That seems to be common in broken homes.  They don't have kids themselves, so can't have valuable insight?

So you got to have them to speak authoritatively.

Crazy as it sounds, I may take the advice of a child development expert that has no kids before 90% of the advice I could get from random parents.

Having em don't make you an authority at raising em.

I don't take my IRA and 401K advice from a man on welfare.

I don't get car repair advice from a man who's never been under the hood himself.

I don't fly on planes in which a pilot has never flown.

Why would I take parenting advice from somebody who has never been shat on one day and stayed up until 4 in the morning to keep that same child calm the next?

I work with 200 kids a week, ages 6-14, and have for 15 years. My brother with 2 fifth graders uses that same logic. I agree that there should be a case for reasonable cleanliness. That said, I've found the same on my school grounds. Thankfully, before the kids did.

Kido - 2013-03-14 1:34 PM New rule, if you don't have personal experience or have/own something, you can't speak about it AT ALL.

I don't take my IRA and 401K advice from a man on welfare.

I don't get car repair advice from a man who's never been under the hood himself.

I don't fly on planes in which a pilot has never flown.

Why would I take parenting advice from somebody who has never been shat on one day and stayed up until 4 in the morning to keep that same child calm the next?

i don't get 401k advice from someone that just HAS a 401k.

having kids doesn't make you an authority on parenting, it just makes you a parent.
