So far we still have several people from our company who were running or spectating who are unaccounted for, but the phones in Boston aren't working so we're hopeful everybody is safe and OK. My coworkers from London who came to town for the race are fine, thankfully.

Dude, this one hits really close to home for all of us.  I know several people in town that are running it and of course all the BT folks.  I'm feeling sick to my stomach

Reports from Boston PD are saying cell service is being overwhelmed.  best to use texts as those are still getting through

They are supposedly now asking for folks to stay off their cell phones because they are worried calls close by might trigger more?

blbriley - 2013-04-15 2:58 PM I really hope this isn't the work of some right-wing nut job(s) who quote the Thomas Jefferson "tree of liberty..." speech.  Sick!

Please.  No politics.  There are radicals on both sides.  This is not the time.

X2 Thanks Crowny

KSH - 2013-04-15 1:09 PM If you watch the video where they are running in and the explosion goes off, the guy in a orange shirt gets rocked so hard he is knocked to the ground. Seeing all the blood on the ground... horrible. Depressing. Who wants to bomb a marathon? I feel so sorry for all the people who are hurt, the families of those people and the ones who are dead, and for the runners who waited for this day, to have it end in tragedy.

It looked like the guy who went down actually had an object of some type that had been thrown or hurled from the explosion into him. If you watch real close you can see it bounce off of him.

My brother lives about 1/2 mile from the finish- his cell wasn't working but he was able to text. Luckily he went to the ared Sox game today or else he probably would have been over watching.

I saw the it reported on Fox news about 20 minutes ago.

They were reporting it, and then I believe the spokesman said they were looking at several backpacks and such that were dropped and left behind, but haven't found any additional devices.

This early, there's going to be a lot of conflicting information coming out.

Took me awhile, but confirmed that one of my cheer teammates who was a nurse in the med tent is fine.

Hey guys, I just made this point in TriTalk.  If you're ever in a situation like this, be safe, but if you can keep your wits, don't get tunnel-vision.  Notice and remember everything you see.

Timothy McVeigh was caught because a cop noticed something insignificant.  It's little details that help intel types put together the puzzle later that helps them catch jerks who do this stuff.

First priority, get to safety, but while you're doing so, try to notice anything and everything you can so that you can help if asked.

Glad a few BTers and other friends have checked in ok.  But this is one of those toughest days for our country and our community.

Same crap happened in OKC.  I'm sure all middle-eastern-looking people are getting stared-at right now by everyone.  Make sure you don't miss the blonde-haired, blue-eyed guy dumping 4 cell phones in the trash can.
