What is really crazy in this story is that they also pulled the same crap at their parent's home in the same neighborhood.

How many homes do you need to occupy for a domestic violence investigation??  I'm guessing the number is closer to zero than two.   I seems to me more like this family was targeted.

I am curious to the other side of the story as well.

Yeah, it almost sounds like a ruse to do an illegal search.  Yeah, we're investigating your neighbor so please get out of the house.  Oh hey, what's this over here... You're under arrest.

Your honor, we were in their house as part of an active investigation so we had the legal right to be there when we found X.

HA!!  It's a crazy story for sure....but there's alot missing there.  It's hard to figure out what really happened from reading it.  The writer used the word "investigation"....hell, they could have been dealing with a guy who was holding a family hostage next store for all I know (and no, in my mind that still doesn't give them the right or authority to remove someone from their home, but it sheds a different light)... still, I've learned to be really careful coming to conclusions based on what I read on one of those rags.  I've seen alot of people misquoted over the years, and outright lies from the press just to get a story out.

That being ssaid, just so there is no misunderstanding, I can only think of a few reasons I'd remove someone from their home against their will....and they all have to do with safety of the homeowner.  Believe it or not....some folks are REALLY stupid.

I completely agree with taking stories like this at face value.

Ironically, if the police did come to my door and asked (nicely) if they could come in to investigate a neighbor.  I would simply state that I do not consent to a search of my house, but I would allow them to come in and observe from my premise.  I wouldn't like the idea of them asking me to leave though, so I would likely rescind my invitation and my beat down would quickly ensue. 

If they kicked me out, I'd likely walk straight over to the neighbor and exercise my 1st Amendment right letting them know that the police were in my house watching them and wave at the police from the neighbors window.  That would probably result in me getting beat down too.  lol

Same here.  Unless you have a warrant you don't step foot in my home.

Hepatitis isn't transmitted by coughing...go with tuberculosis.  It's making a comeback.  Also super contagious.

We're dealing with cops here, not doctors......trust me, just cough alot and complain about any disease.....it'll look like the running of the bulls.

I took that as not being a damage that they took food... but as evidence that they ate and relaxed and therefore "quartered".  I could be wrong.

I love lawyer speak.  There was a commercial on the radio over lunch about IRS tax relief attorneys.  They had a guy who had $90k in back taxes and they managed to get it down to just "$4500 on his final payment"  Is that $4500 after you paid the other $85.5K?  lol
