Every network and every news feed has a different "expert" spouting off and lining up to get paid......and the idiots all contradict each other and make the misinformation level HUGE. No thanks. I'm a student of Occam's razor..... it crashed.
That's the way feel too. |

Master 8250 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Missing Malaysian 777 It just doesn't sound like the evidence points to a mechanical issue as the cause. Sounds like a hijacking--who knows why. My guess is the end result was a crash into the ocean, as we should have seen demands, sightings, or claims of responsibility by now. Normally I don't follow these things much but it's hitting a bit too close to "home" for comfort. Headed to Singapore next weekend and hoping I don't get a free trip to heaven, hell, or Turkmenistan. |

My gut feel is it is on the ground somewhere and passengers are being held captive. Why would they hold them captive and not just kill them if they wanted a plane for some reason? And if they weren't after the plane and wanted hostoages for some type of political statement or possible trade for other political prisoners, then why no word from suspects? Keeping 239 people hostage without moving forward with demands is no easy venture.....and pointless. Still sitting on Occam's razor here........crash, intentional or not. The only reason you would not kill them is if you wanted the plane is maybe you figured you could use them as hostages if you decide to move the plane. We live in a post 9/11 world so chances are I think they would shoot down the plane and not risk it being used as a weapon. The only reason I think it was not a crash at least and accidentally one is the transponders being shut off. Sad thing is I wonder how much this was a test for them to see if a group could steal a plane. Since they can not find it goes to show they figured it out. |

Good point. Steal a plane as a test, ditch it in the ocean, get some virgins in the next life. Wacky thinking, but killing yourself in a test for something greater is right up the jihadists alley. Of course, it's all purely speculation and I have no idea where they are in the investigation. As you know, the investigators on this will be seasoned folks....they aren't likely giving the press ANYTHING worth having. Edited by Left Brain 2014-03-16 2:23 PM |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Missing Malaysian 777 Intentionally crashing into the drink doesn't fly (pun intended). The plane flew for several hours after they turned off the tracking devices....and one of them requires someone to pull a circuit breaker. If suicide was the plan, no reason to do these things. There is a satellite device that was pinging the satellite for hours. They could have tried to land in the Himalayans and failed/crashed. I will keep an eye out for them on my EBC trek.... |

Sure it could if it were part of a test......who knows what information the test was intended to produce. I'm not watching any of the coverage because it's all stupid, and uninformed. It's just speculation like we are doing. Good investigators tell the press NOTHING. |

Drudge is carrying some pretty incriminating stuff about the pilot....which I think is unfair....but the fact is, the flight crew is suspect. |

Well if you wanted to steal 10 planes in the future you might find out if you got all the transponders and tracking devices on the plane. 1 missing plane is bad. 10 is worse. |

Co pilot goes to bathroom, pilot locks him out and flies plane to Indonesia and lands at a Muslim sympathetic country. |

I can't think of an easier way to get into the airline business with little or no cash. Just steal the planes! Get your disgruntled pilot buddies in on it and you've met your crew staffing needs. Passengers can be used as baggage handlers and ground crew... Edited by mdg2003 2014-03-17 8:41 AM |
