No matter what mine or everyones' opinions on the war are, one fact cannot be overlooked: there are men suffering, injured, and dying everyday. If I can hold one hand, help one person feel better, the risk will be worth it.
this made me cry, haley.
we drove past the military cemetary today and ella started asking about soldiers and wars, and we were trying to explain how not all soldiers fight, or die, in war. thank you for giving of yourself to the soldiers who are suffering...and for me personally, thank you for giving me a wonderful example to share with my girls about what it means to be a soldier, and how to think of others other than yourself.
that said, this sounds more than selfless - a great opportunity for you to learn so much, travel, etc (and hey, mother theresa wouldn't have done what she did if she didn't get something out of it! ).
and yes, y'all, i just compared comet to mother theresa. put that in your pipe and smoke it.
you are awesome. you are going to do a fabulous job. stop in when you can. we'll miss you, woman!
(and boy, when we were talking about ways to be a nurturing person...and you said 'yea, a nurse'...um, it made sense then...but makes even more sense now! ). |
