Weather getting better .. finally.. although a little windy here. Have missed two wkouts this week ... aaarrghhh.. starting to make me crabby. One due to work, today's a combination of work and injury. SO hoping this hip pain goes away and doesn't sideline me like it did in the fall(although other hip.. what is it with women and hips anyways it's annoying!). Will definitely be behind on this weeks totals.

Wow your chart is great........I am so far behind...the weather has been crappy here...I had to stop swimming because of some pain in my back...UGG....I may have to downgrade myself. Hopefully I can catch up a little in the next two weeks.....how does the month go by so quickly???? Great job everyone!!

Good thing I only signed up for veteran level.  It is seriously a challenge for me.  Especially on the bike.  I'm on track, but I'm going to need to stay focused to make that 300 mile goal.

Rode every day this week, over 215 miles, and I'm still behind goal at the halfway mark. But not by much.

243 so far...grumble. have over 1000 for the year, which is a record for me for this time of year...yet i don't feel like i'm getting really long rides in. anyway, am hoping to do a group ride this thursday...and i have a goal of getting on the trainer every day this week, either first thing in the morning, or last thing at night, for at least 30 mins. we'll see how that one goes

I tried my best to stay on schedule but could only last 84 miles in the rain, wind, and cold yesterday before I had to call it a day!! If I could have got my hands on the weather forcaster...............it would not have been good!! I could have dressed accordingly had they told me what the weather was going to be like!!!

April's totals:
Bike:17h  - 336.7 Mi
Run:7h 20m  - 53 Mi
Swim:5h 41m 30s  - 18412 Yd

Pretty much on track. The second half of the month is planned to be heavier than the first so providing I have no unforseen problems I should be >100% for all three.

Going pretty well so far, my run volume is ahead of schedule, my swim volume is behind and my bike is right where I want it to be. Next 2 weeks are my big weeks though so all should be good. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Sorry for the delay but the weekend was busy and work is been crazy as well. Anyway here it is the updated list up to 04-18-07. Although many of us have been hit with bad weather all over the place keep on pushing and let's hope for a break so we can complete this!

FYI - For those with less than 30% completed with 12 days to go on the challenge it won’t be a good idea to try to get all in because that might represent overextending yourself and stacking sessions which is not the goal of the challenge.

Focus, focus...

I did not realize how difficult this would be. When I did the math, 400/30 worked out to just over 13 miles a day. That didn't seem like much. However, I underestimated the effects of cumulative fatigue. Putting aside for a moment the fact that I got behind on this rather quickly due to a variety of factors, one of which was I just didn't get my fat a$$ out there when I should have, the last few days I've been riding a bit more regularly. Riding with any sort of frequency adds up. Right now, my legs are tire and sore, my knees are a bit sore (never had sore knees from riding) and I'm feeling tired.

I will ultimately fail at this challenge and that's okay. That's how you learn. I learned a lot about training and recovery from participating in this. I'll probably finish the month with just over 100 miles. Next month my goal will be to get around 250-300.

Jorge,

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, my totals shown are my distances for the full month of March instead of month to date.

Through yesterday I was at

220 miles on the bike
28.1 miles running and
12,800 meters in the pool

I am little ahead of pace in the pool, but on pace or slightly behind pace on the bike and the run. I am pushing, but it is going to be tight.

This challenge is having some unintended consequences. I am considering blowing off a short road race next weekend in order to get in a long run. Would that be wrong?

sorry i'll fix that next update for sure!

Well the weather seems that it is finally going to cooperate and at 334 miles short of my goal with 11 days to go I have to ride LOTS and avg 30 Mi a day. Oh I also have to run 49 miles AND swim 13,000 yds... whose brilliant idea was this challenge again?

hmmm.. don't think I'm going to make it. Run is done, but swim is not and bike is seriously lacking. Plus we'll be in Pensacola for the last 5 days of April.

Can we redo this in May when it actually might not snow?!
