Lara, I assure that Darwin is probably the most beautiful orange tabby in the world. If I was not such a total yutz with electronic stuff, I would snap a picture with my digital camera and try to download/upload a pic on this forum. My biggest worry would be that someone might find him so gorgeous that this someone might be tempted to kidnap my little darling. THEN, where would I be? Why, I would be Darwinless!!!!

Here's my dog Bailey after eating a tube of bright orange oil paint (it's the only picture I have on this computer).

She's a pretty dog, but this picture is pretty typical - she's still a puppy and she has a tendency to get into things...

Here are our greyhounds, retired racers that we rescued 5 yrs ago.

Bella the soccer dog:

Correlle catching turtle:

And here they are playing their favorite lure coursing game. A pair of old socks tied to a buggy whip really gets them going in the back yard.

Bella going for the prey:

And Correlle showing how low she can go. She's got that crazed look in her eyes.

Greyhounds are such cool dogs!

My last roommate had a retired greyhound. She was so much fun! Loooooved frisbees! My next dog will probably be a greyhound (or a Border Collie, if my bf gets his way)!

They're cuties, PirateGirl!

I debated whether or not it would be OK to post Mocha's picture in the middle of Bootygirl's mourning thread... I wasn't sure... But I figured Mocha was sending her sympathies...

I'd like to post some more photos, but I seem to have FORGOTTEN (?) how to do it?  I can't get it to work... Any help out there???

Figured it out... (!) See Below.....

What you did was fine in my book, I just didn't want to overwhelm her thread with my dog and everyone else's dog. You know.....

You musta figured out how to post photos of Mocha! What a cutie! How old is she (he?)? And so shiny.... What do you feed her?!

She's a year and a half... she's supposedly a full bred lab, but we sometimes think she looks a little pointer-ish. Maybe someone jumped the fence at some point in her bloodline..Her fur is also shorter than most labs, and her tail and legs are longer!

We give her Omega 3 fatty acid capsules...2x daily with her food, which is just Iams large breed. She had some problems with her skin getting dry and flaky, and she had alot of dandruff before, but the fatty acids have REALLY helped, and everyone comments on her shine!

Gus and Mocha could be brother and sister!!  I think chocolates are usually a little taller and slimmer than black and yellow labs (at least the ones I've seen).  I was really hoping Gus would grow into his legs, but, by looking at Mocha, I'm not too sure about that now

Gus and Mocha DO look alike!!! Mocha used to have those green green eyes, but they've turned more hazel as she's gotten older.

Where did you get Gus??? When I saw him on your Avatar, I smiled!

I have a friend who owns a kennel out by St. Louis.  I'm sure she wouldn't mind the plug:  http://www.tenderheartkennel.com.

Gus is actually a service dog in training so I'm only going to have him until next July or so.  He's my third service dog (second lab) and is so far my favorite!  I'm not sure if it's the chocolate or just him, but he's VERY smart (sometimes too smart) and somewhat fiesty.  He comes to work with me every day so he's practically by my side 24/7....it's quite entertaining, to say the least!  Right now he's trying to eat the wheels of my office chair.

Mocha looks like a great dog.  I think Gus will be my last service dog for awhile, but I definitely want to get a lab of my own one day.

There are two in Kansas.  The one I volunteer for is CARES, out of Concordia, KS.  You can reach them at (785) 243-1077.  They are a pretty small non-profit org but you can really tell they love their dogs.  I worked in a middle school and we had a CARES therapy dog that worked in the special ed department and he was absolutely wonderful.  They're pretty far from you, but I know they do some work with people in CO.  In fact, I think they use a prison in eastern CO for one of their training facilities (Kit Carson, maybe?).  They may be able to help get you started or point you in the right direction for something closer to you.

The other one is Kansas Specialty Dog Service (KSDS) out of Washington, KS.  I don't have personal experience with them, but you can get information at http://www.ksds.org.  It looks like most of their website is under construction, but it may help you get started.

If you have other questions about it, feel free to ask...it's such a great cause.

Cute kitties! And Chance's flag LOL! You forgot to tell us why you are abusing that poor ferret squished between the door and door jamb behind Chance in the last picture

I love pet pics!!!

This is my 7 year old miniature schnauzer, Penny. She is the only pet I've ever had in my 31 years, and I just love her to bits. She's just a really, really good dog, and extremely calm for the breed (thankfully!).

One picture is Penny with my dad. It was hunting season in this one too, so don't mind my dad's interesting outfit. Penny is not a hunting dog, but she loves to go for rides to "deer camp" anyway. She is wearing an attractive bandana in this one.

The other picture is a frequent sight in our house. Penny isn't terribly fond of her Eukanuba Reduced Fat dog food, and regularly stares at her bowl, wishing the kibble would turn into something more appealing, before finally accepting her reduced fat fare and eating it.
