Okay, I'll be in for 50 miles - a bit ambitious, but I want to surpass the 3-miles-per-run mark.

Oh, what the hell.  Even with my knee and back giving me issues, I'll push for 50 miles.  I need the motivation!

I am up for a challenge.  I think I can pull off running 60 miles for the month of October.  It may be a challenge, but I think I can do it.

Having just started this whole exercize running biking thing, I will give it a tri, put me in for 50 miles (run, walk or crawl) as I have only been jogging for about 4-5 weeks from couch at this point and have alot of out of town stuffs in October.

Someone will have to walk me through the what to do part and I have no idea how to post a picture on the web, hope we don't lose, whoever we is.

i would like to pledge a fitty! gonna try to go back to running 4X a week - it worked in the winter months to get me ready for a half marathon...

as for penalty shots, after displaying my bikini-clad butt for a month - i'm okay with whatever other body part gets voted to be the new avatar - what could be worse?

Hmmmm...what to estimate??? Doing Chicago Marathon (been injured...only gonna run part of it). Then it's on to training for NYC. Wonder how the injury/recovery/etc. is all going to play into this...

Put me down for 120...an aggressive amount, but it's a challenge, right?

Boy this is hard for me to commit to, but I'm in. I hope I'm worthy. I just started shuffling a few weeks ago and want to be able to tri next season.

My goal is to walk or walk/run a minimum of 1.5 miles a minimum 3x a week from 1-31 October. (I'm currently dealing with PF in my right heal)

If it needs to be specific miles, I think I can do 25.

Is that specific enough? Will I be the last person on the playground picked for a team?

Alright Already!!! Great challenge Catherine

I'll dip another toe into the 'running pot' and sign up for 26 miles (41km). The 40min run today should 'get my party started.' Doing a 5k race Oct. 20th so I could use the boost to get there. I'm waayyyyyyyyyyy behind in training this month or perhaps exactly where I'm meant to be....When I reach that goal, I'll just keep going Should be nice to feel the breeze through my hair...oh, that's right, I don't have any....lol.

I'm in! I need some motivation to be consistent, even with the low volume I have for October. 240 minutes per the plan. Thanks!

You mean I actually remembered to look for a challenge in time to make it before it started? I did one of these before but I can't remember if we won or not...was still a blast.

Put me in for 60 miles...not to ambitious but a little more than this month. I have to actually start going back to work in October and I have a couple work trips planned so this could be a challenge...wait a minute....its supposed to be.

Michael

PS No special team requests from me and any avatar punishment is fine.

I'm so new this is my first post!  This sounds like fun and a way to encourage me to do a little more than I had really planned. I'll add the extra via walking.

So put me down for 31 miles.  I think I can averge 1 a day.

Cool, a running Challenge

Count me in for the running challenge this month and put me down for 200 Miles.

I know that my volume is usually higher than this but October is a race month and I will be tapering the first half, racing on the 14th, and recovering the 2nd half.

Legs don't fail me now
