I'm in for November.

I design wonderful, detailed training plans for myself but I often don't follow them, and just do what I feel like each day instead.  If I want to do well at longer distances I need to FOLLOW THE PLAN !!!!

So my November challenge will be to follow the plan and do the workouts I'm supposed to each day.  This will mean:

8 bike workouts (total 13 hours)
8 swim workouts(total 10,400 m )
13 runs !!    (total 76 miles)
13 core workouts

The challenge will be the total number of workouts rather than the hours/distances.

Count me in:
Run, walk or crawl 65 miles.
Bike 225 miles.
Weight lifting/stregth training 5 hours.
Weight loss to 150 pounds per weigh in on last day of month am.

And.. well that should cover it.

Probly a kind newbie team as I am just getting started on all this tri stuff.

Oooh, we have a push pin sticky now! We're pinned to the top of the forum!

For people who have submitted goals, I've been puting them into a spreadsheet. (Those of you who just said you're participating, that's fine. I'll add you to the spreadsheet once you post your goals.) Once we get closer to Nov, I'll organize the teams.

Teams will be organized based upon teammate requests, goals and geographic location. (In that order.)

So, for now, all that needs to be done is for people to submit their goals. It can be done anytime from now through Nov 1st. In other words, you still have a week.

Oh, and if anyone wants to be a team captain, let me know!

Good afternoon,

Well I have figured out my schedule for next month so here is my Challenge Pledge:

Swim: 15,00 yds....gotta get backin the pool I don't think I was there but a few times this month

Bike: 250 miles...my favorite thing the dreaded "drainer" but I'll try to get outside as much as poss.

Run: 61 miles.....down some but I have to have some time to swim

Strenght or Cross-fit workouts: 3 times a week.

So that is it and I'll be happy to be on anyones team. I have loved all of my past teams. And yea no weird avatar change....for a change

I am in and going to push myself (I think) to a good goals.

8 hours of swimming

8 hours of biking

8 hours of running

Lose 10lbs

That should keep me busy in November and motivate me to keep the lbs off.

I'm in as well. I'm doing the combination of this challenge with the crap weather challenge. So I know there'll be some run, and there should be some bike, too. But, I haven't decided what yet.

50 miles on the bike

I'm in...this month's challenge is what gets me out the door some days...

I'd prefer a kinda newbie team (just don't throw me in with the TANers...they scare me! ), but really whatever works for me.

My goals are:

  • Walk/Run 30 miles (would love to put a goal up about how much I can run but with my nagging calf injury I don't want to commit to that right now...might alter it later on)
  • Weights: 3 hours
  • Swimming: 5 hours (this will also force me to join a gym so I have access to the pool)

I'd like to be in on this. I don't know what's a realistic goal, except that i want to get back into weight training. How about:

*240 min weight training
*35 miles running
*8000 yds swimming

Might be tough with Thanksgiving... but that's the idea, to be challenged, right????

OK - here goes. In November I will:

Swim at least 3x a week (13 sessions for the month)
Core/strength at least 2x a week (9 sessions for the month)
Run at least 42 miles
Bike at least 120 miles

Edited to add...if possible, I'd love to be on a team with the cool Mosc sisters (MaryMosc, Mosc11); if you're going by location, I'm either in VA or GA (and a midwesterner at heart)

I will be in the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks so I will not set a normal SBR challenge for myself.  Instead I have decided to do an ABS / CORE workout.  3 times a week for the month of November.  I am going in for surgery in December so I need to make sure I am super strong for it.

As a side challenge to myself I am aiming for:

4 Tequila Sunrises / day
4 Mi Ti's
12 Coronas
6 Hours by the pool
4 hours in the pool / swim up bar
4 hours in the buffets
3 hours at the clubs
6 hours at the beach
I know I can make these goals if I push myself!!

can i add to my goal?? with thanksgiving and all, i want to add losing 10 pounds to my goal, i was going to add it unofficially, just my own personal thing, but decided that i'd be more likely to actually do it, if i was more accountable, and added it to my november goal.

and since i'm bike challenged to begin with, can i throw another hour on to my bike goal?
so that will be 75 miles running, 3 hours on the bike, and losing 10 pounds. (NO more pounds cake!!)

    Sounds like your November will be MUCH better than your December!

    2 weeks in the Dominican Republic? *sigh* I'll be here. At work. Working.... (Although I'll try to visit TAN every now and then, as a diversion.)

    You *could* do some swimming during those 4 hours in the pool / swim up bar. Although you'd probably be pulled over for DWI (SWI?) when you went wobbling across all the lanes.

    Have a great time in the Dominican Republic. And good luck w/ your surgery in December.

    Your goals have been updated. I agree - if I declare a public goal, I tend to take it more seriously. That's one of the reasons that I like these challenges. When it's on the public forum, and I have a bunch of teammates, I'm less likely to "take a day off."

    Glad you liked the spreadsheet. It's growing rapidly! LOL
