Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays I did so so in January. Lost, gained and am now where I started. However, I have been relentless in my logging of food and I am tracking nutrients as well as calories. I KNOW what to do, I just have to do it. After being sick for a good bit of the month I am just getting the training back where it should be. Feb will be a good month for losing weight, I just know it! |

I feel like I have made some good progress but have a ton to go. My clothes fit much easier for sure as i was down about 10 pounds for the month but if I can have a similar February things will really be rolling. 10 pounds in a month is GREAT work! |

I think I whittled away 4 pounds (bouncing all over the place.... the scale, not me). |

Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Congrats to everyone this month, regardless of whether or not you lost this month....changing poor eating habits in the long term is important! Judy, I will have to check out that RW article. Ironic, as I have been called "thin" twice within the past week. I may see a "fitter" version of myself in the mirror, but "thin" NEVER!

I've lost 7 lbs from the end of December until last Thursday when I had my most recent weigh-in. Not too bad.... If I continue this trend, I should definitely hit my goal for the end of the challenge. |

Extreme Veteran 671 Not Quite DFL | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Howdy folks. My january was the pits. I only ran 21 miles for the whole month. Some of that due to time constraints, some due to a perceived injury. However, I have started using new shoes and glucosamine - and my knees really don't hurt anymore. I'm looking forward to a better Feb. and a fantastic March.
Keep up the great work - Im awed by the 10 pound loss. At this point, I just want to lose 1 lb per week for the next 14 weeks. |

It'll be tough to stay on track, for sure, but maybe suggesting healthy foods and such will be a welcome idea to your friend! Is she trying to get healthier too? Judi: I get RW. I'll go look for that article. Hey Blanda - Not that friend... The friend that we hate to see visit each month. Sorry. |

Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays I'd prefer just a utility bill as well.... Weigh-in day! It's been awhile since I've been excited about this... down to 145.0 which is a loss of 1.8 pounds from last week. I'm now caffeine-free and almost over the whole hormonal mess and my weight is starting to play nice again. I had promised myself a present when I got under 145... SO CLOSE! I'm psyched about all of this. Definitely feeling like I'm on a roll. Starting to make good choices without thinking about it too much. That said, this weekend will be a challenge -- going out Sunday night for the Superbowl. Going to eat beforehand and not drink, so I'm hoping that'll keep me in check. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Check in day and I am the same. I really didn't do well this week. Turns out I am a food vampire. I do great during the day then the evening... not so good. I am going to start a reward system paying myself for NOT consuming wine or salty stuff. I still pay myself for not smoking. It was a great help when I was in the process of quitting. I think it will do me well now, too. A tangible hard cash reminder. |

Regular 137 Lansing, Michigan | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Round 2: The Holidays Another week on P90X and still moving in the right direction. From Jan 14th to today (3 weeks) totals: Net weight change: -1 pound. Net fat mass change: -6.9 lbs. Net lean mass change: +5.8968. Weight has been bouncing all over the place, but at least the composition is changing in ways that I like. I can actually see a (small) dip between my upper two abs...... does that mean I have a 1/2 pack? Got my utility bill yesterday after making a joke about it... eek. Usually at this time of year I am more worried about the gas. |

That grad student social at your house features all-you-can-eat pizza and all-you-should-not drink beer (Boulevard Wheat and New Belgium 1554).... not to mention creme puffs that are currently being stored in your freezer for the party. Don't give in! Eat healthy beforehand and enjoy a responsible night! |

Self-payment would probably work better than placing garlic and a crucifix (or a crucifix made out of garlic) with your wine and salty goods. Good luck, stay out of the sun, and get checked for hemophilia. If you beat smoking, you can beat this! |

But once you get the plan, focus on each day and the end day. If you look at the middle, you will get overwhelmed! You will do great! |

You all made me, seriously, lol a few times. Thank you!!! My weight is slowly starting to come down, now that I have stopped eating so late in the day and started keeping a better eye on my portion sizes. I think I am exactly where I started this challenge at, way back in the Summer, and hoping to finish February under 150. It will be a challenge, since I'll be traveling for a good portion of the month, but I am up for the challenge. I am definitely feeling fitter now that I have been tri training consistently for the last month. |

I'll be happy to be back to where I was at the end of the summer... not sure it will happen by the end of the month, but I am in better shape today than I was this time last year. As long as that trend continues, I'll be happy. Good job on consistent tri training and best of luck in keeping some consistency with all of your travel. |
