Noticed a small tear in my wetsuit, I'm not wearing it tomorrow what with multiple 100+ days recently and negligble rain, just going through my tri stuff for a race checklist, and was looking through amazon and there are a lot of products does the pod have a preffered product?  It's a small fingernail shaped hole that doesn't go all the way through the neoprene.

Can't help you on the wetsuit issue as i don't even own one. Sounds like a fairly insignificant tear if it doesn't actually go all the way through.

Are you thinking of keeping it for training and getting a new race day suit?

Nope keeping it as my only suit, I bought it for my HIM in April so not enough meters on it to get a second

Came across this and this is exactly what the lineup looks like tomorrow since all those piglets are who come to race, and those who don't, are working the event in that capacity.

Hm ... might happen to me ...

I bet the've all been airbrushed and aren't real men like me and Kirk.

Good day everyone, I hope your weekend full of racing and training is going well. In the past few pages of the thread I've gotten a few running book ideas. I want to bring something with me on the cruise in August, so I'm looking for more ideas. The current possible list includes:

"Ultra Marathon Man" - Dean Knazares
"Running on Empty" - Marshall Ulrich
"Run the Edge" - Adam Goucher and Tim Catalano

I have read "Born to Run" and I found it to be entertaining and a quick read. And everyone here is raving about Chrissie's book, so it may be on the list as well. Does anyone have anything else they would suggest?

Hmmm, I think they cropped me out, I was a bit further down to the right.

OK, maybe not.

Had the exact same issue, Kirk, sounds like the tear is the same (I actually posted a pic in part 2 if you want to see, around June 17th).  I went to a local dive shop and they set me up with neoprene cement.  Not sure it even has a brand name.  Worked like a charm, took about 20 minutes.  Lots of people recc'd aquaseal, but I was told that it works better if you have an actual defect (like a piece is missing, or the tear goes all the way through).  Good luck in your race!

Well I'm with Yanti and Ann Marie with the swim amnesia... and I'm quite sure our Manatee men would fit right into that picture.

Allen, one of the terms they keep using I can't quite figure out what they are say but is seems to refer to the TdF riders swerving on their bike .

As for my "race". The morning seemed to be more of a bike workout with a 5k thrown in.  I am super happy with my ride, I cut off 7 minutes from the last time I did it.  It is the route I take when I ride to the pool.  Anyway, the 5k wasn't an outstanding accomplishement but I am happy with my 29:43 considering I'd just biked a hilly course with a PR! I also took some satisfaction as all of the fast people climbed back into there cars to leave and I climbed on my bike for the 9 mile ride home... AND I have my ticket to the Pork & Brew and $5 in tickets to spend when I get there!!!!!!!!!

How is everyone else this fine weekend?

Now I need to clean up and go get groceries... and a Bux!!! BTW, Salty, why doesn't Starbucks make it so I can tip on the debit card. I always have to make sure I have some $1's to go there...

Nice work TJ!  I have a Bux card that I reload so I can get a free drink every 15 purchases.  I don't tip but buy a X-Mas present for my Barista, among other small gifts etc.  She's been there for 3 years now.  Her name is Vanda and I jokingly tell her I love Vandalizing her

Allen, we will take some of your rain.  Everything here is so brown, dead and wilted from the extended high heat of the past few weeks.  Today our weather sounds like Reece's...highs around 104, but 'cooler' tomorrow with a high of 'only' 92.  I've had to water my garden and flowers in the evenings to keep them from drying up and blowing away.

My Team Fight gear finally arrived yesterday for my Rev3 Half Full in October, YAY!!!  I definitely need to stay on top of the weight loss...the shirt is cut for 'normal' sized women, which I am not.  At 5'10" and 183 lbs, I am not the traditional small, skinny tri racer.  The shirt fits OK except it is kinda short and yellow, neither of which is good at hiding my fat gut Undecided  Although I now learned I think I like Sugoi tri shorts!  Haven't worn them more than trying them on for size, so I want to give them a little test run.  The pad is bigger than my other shorts, but I like the cut and feel overall.  We shall see!  I don't want to test them out in my race tomorrow, I will save the test for a training ride.  And my tri club shorts didn't come in yet, so I guess I will wear my slightly ripped (just where the pad is attached to the fabric) old tri shorts.

I love the lifeguard pic, Yanti!  That's a whole lot of lusciousness!

Congrats on your race, TJ! Sounds like a lot of fun.

I want to camp with Jo, she has access to beer and wine!!

That is pretty We stop at 2 or 3 different locations on a regular basis so, unfortunately, we don't have a regular barista.

Tripopo - 2012-07-07 10:33 AM Noticed a small tear in my wetsuit, I'm not wearing it tomorrow what with multiple 100+ days recently and negligble rain, just going through my tri stuff for a race checklist, and was looking through amazon and there are a lot of products does the pod have a preffered product?  It's a small fingernail shaped hole that doesn't go all the way through the neoprene.

I have one of those.  I haven't bothered to fix it.  I'm just more careful of that spot when I pull it on.
