SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed (Page 208)

Or are you still there cheering on the late-night finishers? I wanted to watch them each time, but just couldn't muster the energy to do it. I'm a total slacker. Wow, what a day. I almost feel like I need to write a VR, that's a Vounteer Report! I will say that it was "Sneaky" hot there today. I know WTC used all the extra water and ice that was purchased as reserve. The crowd was huge. I have been volunteering at this race for years and have never seen crowds like today. People were 3 or 4 deep all the way up and down State Street. I also saw lots of folks very deep into the pain cave very early (like mile 3) into the Marathon (you know that Glassy-eyed dazed Look .....) I know both Kim and Suzy arrived there pretty early also. As an example, I ran with Kim at mile 13.5 for about a block around the State Capital and I don't think she remembers it, now thats focus on getting back to work. Nice work ladies.... Thanks for letting me share it! |
I was up at 4:00 am to be on course by 5:30 am and stayed out there until about 9:00 pm before driving the hour or so home. Tons of emotions watching all my Donkai and EN Team Members and the Twins work through the day. Dino - thank you so much for the live reports from the field, and especially for finding Kim for us when we couldn't track her on the run! When do you sign up for 2012??? |
