I'm in upstate NY and it is starting to warm up, upper 30's and maybe 40's this weekend.  My problem is the amount of snow left to melt leaves poor visibility and slick roads from the run off.  Not to mention what all the salt does to my gear train!  So another long trainer ride tomorrow!

I rode with a bunch of BTers and did 3 loops of sprint bike course.

It was great outside but my bike fitness needs some work. Plan on riding next 3 days outside as it will be in the upper 40s or 50s.

It was great outside today! Started off with the sun out, probably in the 60's. Unfortunately towards the end of the ride clouds had rolled in and it dropped into the low 50's so it was a bit cold. However I can't complain about getting a chance to ride outside based on all the rainy weather we've had for the past month or so.

It was sunny and warm in Toronto yesterday but with ice on the roads in the mornings I decided another trainer day was the better option. Today is the chilly 1/2, the sun is out again should be a good day to run. Enjoy the day wherever you are!

Feel a little wimpy that I had on my toe warmers, ear warmers and gloves for my ride today...it was only 60s and windy!  But, it was sunny.  I am glad my florida weather is finally returning!!  Welcome the HOT AND HUMID!!!!!!

Last Thrusday would have been my first above freezing morning ride.   Unfortunately my body told me it was a rest day.

Tomorrow forecast 43 degrees F.   13 mph winds out of the west.  Should be a good morning to ride.

Chris - Hey Neighbor.

I'm pretty close by - woodstock.  Did you do Chilly yesterday?  I was going to do it, but decided to do the mississauga half instead.  I did Chilly a few years ago, but I think they changed the course since I did it.

Personally, I wait until all the salt is off the road before I take my bike outside.  And I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to riding in the cold.  I like it to be at least 10C.

Hey Daffodil, yes Woodstock is pretty close, but not as long as the ride November 6....I did the run Chilly and yes the course changed. It's all on Lakeshore now with a couple of turnarounds. It was a beautiful day for a run. I did Mississauga last year, it's a really nice net downhill run.Riding outside before the salt is gone does take more bike maintenance but I can't take too much more of being inside.Oh well, training takes a hit starting next week, two weeks of hotel living, it's unfortunate work gets in the way of life hopefully the weather co-operates and I can get some quality runs in.

Got a short ride in on Sunday myself...I mean short...20miles.  I started late b/c I was enjoying the first day of nice weather.  Only negative...since I don't wear socks when I bike my feet got a bit nippy as I came back in around 5 and the sun was just barely over the trees...hey, who needs all ten toe's?

Overall, slow and steady for me...will get geared up after the Gulf Coast Tri here in PCB.  That will be an eye opener to where I need to work harder...

Nice!

How cold was it in PCB for your ride?

Cold toes is never fun riding or afterwards when you can start to feel them.

The new airport should be finishing up as it is opening in May.

I'm going riding again today for 4th straight day of 2+ hours riding. My legs are tired and I know I have lots of training to do...we have lots of time as IMFL is about 240 days away...lots of fitness gains can be made.

Cool!

We should get an estimate on how many we ordered last two years so you  have an idea. I think we got a lot maybe more than 50. Brittney handled the money and such. I'll PM her and ask just so we have an idea.

I rode last 4 days between 27-39 miles with lots of wind.  I did some intervals with power so power was within 1 watt my speed into the wind and with the wind was more than 5 mph different. Sad I rode more last four days than I have last monthSurprised.

I love spring riding~

I love spring riding, too! Temps here were high 70s/low 80s so I didn't care what the training schedule said. I went out and rode! Was restricted on time so didn't get in as much as I wanted, but it felt great to be outside on the bike. Still have some work to do, but I'm getting there.

Glad lots of you are getting to ride outside! The rain came so I may be on the trainer the next couple of days.

As to the shirts, they never emailed me back as promised so i am hoping they are just doing some research, but that may not be a good sign.

KathyG is looking into quantity.

Phat - Room for one more on guys night out?

Suppose to get rain here too...looks nice now.  I did ride the trainer this morning for a quick ride.  I also emailed IM in regards to the course come Nov.  I've heard that the airport is not going to want the traffic coming down 388.  I'm hearing they may have to change the course but they will respond via website if any changes are made.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

I'm glad that IMFL is a flat course. Just got done with a ride and I think the saying on a bike should be "what goes down must come up". Those hills kicked my butt today.

I'm with you.  I am in the suburbs of Kansas City, on the Kansas side, and everyone always laughs thinking its flat around here until they come in town for a race and see it for themselves.  The entire IMFL has 150 feet of elevation change over the course of 122 miles, I have that just getting out of my neighborhood.  This will be my first at IMFL, and I heard the biggest issue is remembering to get out of aero occassionally to avoid killing your back when its time to stand for the run
