This Monday, numbers are down... not as much as the past two weeks, but still going in the right direction. weight - 194.5 (started at 203.2) - was 196 yesterday, I think that the water loss from last night was kind to this morning's weigh-in Abdomen Fat -20 (started at 24) Chest Fat - 20 (started at 22) Thigh Fat - 20 (started at 24) Estimated % Body Fat - 17.83 (started at 20.58) Let's hope next week is as kind (might count my 196 for this week).
A new Monday (but not a blue Monday) A new weight.... it is up from last week. Grrr..... but body fat % is down. Hooray! weight - 195 (started at 203.2) Abdomen Fat -19 (started at 24) Chest Fat - 19 (started at 22) Thigh Fat - 18 (started at 24) Estimated % Body Fat - 16.7 (started at 20.58) Pounds fat - 32.565 (started at 41.818) - down almost 9 pounds over the first month! This past week wasn't as good as it could have been. Weekend nutrition was a little heavy on beer and pizza (pizza from two school events back to back nights... ugggg). I also missed my long run this past week (and swimming). However, I did start lifting weights again (my friend is into lifting and I started going with him to lift 3 times a week). Additionally, I got a semester long membership to the "Tiger X" program here at school that lets us go to unlimited number of fitness classes (e.g., spinning, yoga, pilates, etc.) and went to spinning and yoga last Thurs. So the week wasn't a complete failure.... but this week will be better. Good Monday Morning to everyone and good luck with getting a great start on the week!

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge QueenZipp - 2011-08-28 3:46 PM We are without power. From the newspaper article I read today it could be several days until we get it back. I ran through the neighborhood and saw lots of downed but no major damage . Could have been a lot worse. That can make for a LONG week. Hope it comes back on sooner. Take care with those downed lines out there. |

Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge I gained 3.5 pounds this weekend. And yes - there was a BrewFest on Saturday, but I was relatively good yesterday so I'm not entirely sure how this happened. I'm up at my highest weight in about 4 months -- 147.4. I'm not sure what to make of it, but my bf% (as told to me by my Tanita) was down as low as it's been in months, though. And I know that the bf% number that the scale reports isn't accurate, but the trending usually is. We'll see. I suspect that my weight will level out gain in a day or so. Usually when my weight ticks up like this, I feel all bloated and awful... and I can't say that I do this time around. I can't wait for the marathon to be over -- I think my body wants me doing more than just running... |

Those are some good numbers! And this challenge is about body composition, so it sounds like you are building muscle. Great work! |

Expert 1694 Illinois | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge I am down a pound. I did weight myself Friday and was down 2 or 3 pounds, but after the binging this weekend (family stuff and now there are all those darned leftovers, except for the peach cobbler which is going to be boxed up and shipped to Robin), it's satisfying to not be over my original weight.

Your body will respond eventually. Sometimes they just take a bit to catch on to our new habits. Keep exercising and being mindful of what you eat, and you'll see results soon. Have you been keeping a food log? I know it's a pain in the azz, but I know when I do the weight starts coming off. We're here for you! |

I hope it resolves itself soon for you. I know how frustrating it is to see those pounds come back. |

Weeks to restore power here.8I am still alive but won't be chatting much Hang in there! At least you won't have TV or computer time at home to distract you from being active. Who knows, without lights, you might get better sleep by falling into a more normal sleep pattern (I know that I do when I don't turn house lights on inside). What are you doing for food while waiting for the power to come back on? Do you have a camp stove or other types of alternative food prep? I guess storage would be the hardest thing to keep on top of. I am not jealous of your situation at all. Sending good vibes your way (not the seismic type). |

Regular 137 Lansing, Michigan | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge ceilidh - 2011-08-29 6:47 AM NO CHANGE FOR ME. This is very discouraging. That is all. My fiancé has the same problem. I often find it hard to find ways to be supportive without being pushy (I am learning the difference between venting and asking for my advice... a key lesson). I think that she, and hopefully you, is encouraged by the fact that her exercises are getting easier and more enjoyable. Even if the weight isn't changing, the fitness level is. I've lost a good bit in the last month myself, but this was after being active and training beginning in February. I know that you can do it. I'll also second the suggestion to track your food items (scientist part of me speaking there... the lingo follows me everywhere) in BT's nutrition. This literally prevented me from eating or drinking things out of shear laziness and not wanting to type it in, and in some cases, because I had a number in front of me that told me how much I had burned for the day and how much I ate. Trying to keep a -500 calorie daily budget kept me honest and the breakdown of carb/protein/fat calories helped me make good food choices relative to earlier daily choices.
You can (and will) do it! |
