Nice work Sir on pulling a fast one on her. Congrats on 10 years!!

Kenott - 2010-09-23 8:50 AM 10 years ago today I managed to trick this amazing women with two little boys into marrying me.  I'm not sure how I pulled it off but 10 years and 3 little girls later I couldn't be happier with our big family.

Keri HOPEFULLY will be getting some MRI news that we can work with today!  She is heading that way now with me holding down the fort.

I AM RACING SUNDAY!  Numbness be damned - I am full speed ahead on my bike now.  The TRI bike felt great last night and I will ride again for a bit on Friday to make sure I remember how to make the pedals turn.  No aggressive time goals just hoping to get through this first oly (everything is a PR).  The swim is odd for an olympic in that it's 2 loops with a 100m jog across a beach to jump back in the water for loop #2.  The good news is I get a tiny break from swimming, the bad news is the HR might peg if I am not careful on the transition to loop 2.  They tossed in a stadium ramp (like one you would find at nearly all football stadiums) in the 10k.  We get to run up in circles and then down somewhere during the run - RD gets creative in Houston to create hills (he had the field go over a large bridge 3 times in an oly earlier this year).  I can't wait.

2 dozen pink roses - check
Anniversary card - check
Anniversary present - check

Dinner with my bride tonight at the Melting Pot.  We have used this place as our "special occasion place" for awhile now.

I hope everyone has a great weekend - Good luck to Eric (maybe KK Aqua-bike) and any other racers!

I downloaded 2 songs from iTunes immediately after checking this site.

Thrice - The Melting Point of Wax
Anberlin - Godspeed

I hadn't heard these songs before and they quickly were added to the rotation.  Thought I would share.  The rest of what was listed was covered by my iPod already (for the most part).  I don't have "Holding out for a Hero" in the rotation and it hasn't been since the 80's but its there in case I have a weakness.

Oh no.  I just realized I miss counted my weeks.  I had planned on a super long run this coming weekend thinking that still left me with a 2 week taper.  So I counted this weekend as my off weekend and only went 16.  Turns out I only have two training weekends left and now have to start taper.  I am major bummed about this.  Although maybe this is for the best

Kim. Buy a calender. Sucks about the date confusion, Beleive me I am THE WORST for being confused about dates, I've missed races over it....

Update...

New shoes arrived in yesterday. Nice easy 5 km this morning only rasied 2 little hotspots on my arch, should be good to go by next week in them full time.

I spilled diesel on my old ones about a month ago and the liners melted, I wear Stabil Cs wides in a 12.5 and they need to be special odered from my shop. (Zappo's has been out for months). So I have been running in old busted Nike. and riding the trainer. Vegas is up in the air as sitters sre balking at our boys. The River I am suposed to be fishing in 8 days has flooded 25' above high water mark and washed out the only road in, highways are saying 3 months to next spring to get it repaired. On the plus side it is now in the mid 80's this week, just in time for me to have put away my summer gear...

Tuscon, San Diego, Houston, Georgia all are looking better now. Even New York (Just cuz Kelli's Cookies are SOOO Good)

Thank god I have been training with a Camelbak.  Sparse water stops.  Wonder if they know we live in Tucson???
And of course cell phones don't work on the mountain, but I'm taking mine anyways, it takes pictures.

Water Stops:
Each stop will provide water, XOOD energy drink (pomegranate); the last 3 stops will have energy gels, bananas, oranges and pretzels.
Miles: 2.7, 5.6, 8.4, 12.6, 15.3, 17.6, 21.2, 23.8
We highly recommend carrying your own water and a cellphone.

They sent the cut off times as well and they are forcing the pace...obviously assuming folks are going to slow down.  So I had planned on steady pace all in a pace I can handle throughout the full race but now I have to push the start a bit to make sure I make the cutoffs.

Mid-80's...it's like your living in the tropics!!  based on some of your weather reports I didn't think it ever got that warm there!

And, thanks

Hey guys, I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and inspires, it's been a trying week for sure.

The good news is I am on day 4 of no swelling, so my left ankle no longer looks like it's trying to compete with EvDs cankles - believe me I was giving him a run for his money and it was NOT pretty!

Hopped on the trainer last night for the first time in a week and it felt fine and no residual pain today so that is good news.

In a holding pattern for the next several days so I could use your healing thoughts and patient vibes - I am NOT a patient patient.

Had a feeling my mortality moment last night. I found out that my high school girlfriend has been fighting breast cancer for the past 8 months and has had a double masectomy in past 6 weeks. This weekend is the Run for the Cure 5km. Signed up last night...

I'm only 36 years old and my first pair are gone. That is not fair. Annie, this ones for you.

September's totals:
Bike:2h 50m 25s  - 40 Mi
Run:1h 53m 28s  - 8.71 Mi
Swim:30m  - 650 M
Strength:30m
Elliptical Training:30m
Yoga:3h 00m

Not great numbers for me with a cold taking me out of training for a week and a half and shin splints and still adjusting to school and work schedules.  October: Not expecting spectacular run numbers as I'm doing very short run sessions and building up slowly trying to get my shin splints under control.  I've set a goal of 13 sessions running and 13 biking for the month.  Need to get some swimming in there too but I want my main focuses to be running and biking in that order.  Also want to find a half marathon for the spring at some point.

Friday while at work one of my roommates called me.  She's a huge animal lover and I'm convinced she's going to own a zoo or at least a huge petting farm at some point as she wants to own llamas and a skunk. Anyway conversation went something like this....

Me: Hey
Harriet: hey are you home?
Me: No I'm at work... What's up?
Harriet: Ummm well Blair (my other roommate) and I are bringing something home.
Me: ok... what's that?
Harriet (extremely hesitantly): Ummm.......
Jason her friend in the backseat: meeooooow meeeeeeow.
Me: *sigh* Harriet what did you do?
Harriet: We found a kitten in the road and thought it had been hit so we took it to the vet but it hadnt been hit so we're bringing it home. So you need to hurry home and meet Scout.

Here's what you need to know.  I'm allergic to cats.  Not like highly allergic they can be around me but not up in my face or my eyes start watering and get all red and puffy.  We already have one cat in the apartment... I've been taking allegra everyday for seasonal allergies so that one hasnt bothered me too much.

But I have to admit scouts cute and I feel bad for the poor thing.... so we now have 2 cats, 2 hamsters and a hedgehog in the apartment.  Meet Scout everyone...
