Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! Sorry to move the discussion away from Steve's manly pants, (I'll bet he carries a Man Bag too) but I had a thought for Reuben. I was reading your race report and you commented about being competative in your age group. Have you ever considered racing as a novice or a clydesdale? You are considered a novice for the first year and all the clydesdales I've seen at races are big and tall guys like you., easily averaging 6'4". Usually these groups have fewer racers in them and with your times you would have a great chance at some podium finishes! Heck, I would race in any category I could if it meant I'd land on the podium. Just some food for thought Keep up the great work. |

This brings up a thought, why is there an Athena Category, A Clydesdale category and a Novice Category, but no small person category? I probably take five steps for Reuben's one and four for all of the rest of you! My swim paddles are smaller and I get passed going downhill at the time. Reuben--I love the swim shots from your race. Is that you with those high elbows in the water? VERY NICE. |

Are you calling me that? I might need to trot right over there and bust your chops. Remember, I have big guns, so quiver. |

While I would have no problem with that as the name, I am guessing a few men might cringe. The fact is there will never be a division for shrimps. I just gotta faster.....my OWS teacher wants to meet with me one on one on Thursday. He thinks there is a fast little person somewhere inside of me....I don't think so, but what the heck! |

How about "pixie" and "stumpy" classes for those vertically challenged I went for a 1500 m swim today but wasnt too fast. Maybe I shouldn't have eaten those two home made large burgers before I went. Just got my new Infinit in and had a taste of it tonight. Seems to be pretty good. Not too strong a flavour. Thanks for the xterra wet suit web site. I think I am going to get one. At those prices it's hard to refuse. I just have to convince my wife that it is a necessity. Of course I spent that much just renting a suit for this years races. Hmm I think I just got my reason for buying one. |

Veteran 242 New York, New York | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! Hi: Anyone see the meteor shower? Hey, what happened with the lady drowning? I couldn't find it on google? Congrats trying. You actually look great. Very muscular. :-) Did you get that CP apartment? Did you manage to sell the other one? Hey, I wanted some advice. To those of you who suggested I become a patent agent - well - I asked at my job if I could take the PLI courses under their PLI umbrella (they pay a flat fee to PLI for all of their lawyers every year - they can take all of the classes they want.) I thought they would say no since I am just a measly secretary but they actually granted me access?! This means I can take the PLI patent classes (~2500.00) for free to become a patent agent (week long course.) I don't know. I guess the door is open. I'm not sure I really want to become a patent agent but it would increase my skill set and make me more marketable. What exactly do they do and how much do they make? I actually want to go to seminary and get my counseling degree (need to transfer) and get my personal trainer certification to become a wellness counselor, but yesterday my pastor said he wouldn't give me a reference because of my emotional issues (periodic very severe depression, etc.) and without church approval one can't do it. Don't know. Stll thinking about it. I had been talking to the seminary about going in the spring and I needed to take a couple of classes this fall. Well, that's my saga. Yours truly, dbw27 |

Expert 1010 Greer, SC | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! I'm racing on Sunday. Greenville Sprint Tri (400m pool swim, 15 mile bike, 5K) I got a flat here last year. Of course I did not have anything to repair or replace it. It was my very first "road tri" ever. It was raining and even my first time ever on a road bike. I borrowed a bike from a buddy the day before. I did not feel real safe and had no plans to ride. Actually, I did not even know how to shift gears! But, as we all know, it begins with...... I'm not riding, it's too dangerous. To.... well, I'll just go slow. Next is...... is he / she in my AG? Anyway, I'd like to break 1:20, but am not going to push it too hard on the run. Everytime I go too hard, my IT Band flares up a little. I might save my energy for my long training week. |
