So I think I am suffering from "end of the season blues"......Although I am training for a 1/2 marathon in October, I have nothing else planned. I may do a sprint at the start of September, but that is it. I was so excited for this summer to happen, after shedding the fatboy suit I used to wear. I looked at my short term goals, "at least 5 tri's- maybe an Oly to finish the season". I did 7 including 2 Oly's. I have completely blown away my goals for the year. And now with nothing else planned, I feel kind of ho hum. I haven't been in the pool yet this month!! I did go back into the last SWBKRUN MG and checked all my posts around when I did my 1st tri(March 8th) and the posts are kind of fun for me to read now. What a difference a summer makes!! Did you/ or do you vets suffer from this? I am making light of it a bit, but i do feel kind of blaise about it all now. |

I vote for another virtual tri in say October and lets keep each other going. The trash talking really gets good in the winter!! And I think everyone should attempt one new sport in the winter (so we can all laugh at each other) belly dancing, pilates, rock climbing, skiing, curling etc.......... |

Andy, you're going to run everyone off with talk like this. I'd be up for another virtual tri challenge...or two. I would even suggest you get time bonuses for doing the different activities based on the temp if doing them outside. BTW, I'll have to skip the new winter sport. We'll have at least two basketball teams, two in gymnastics, one in dance, football, fall baseball, and, more than likely, baseball workouts all winter. Plus all the school programs... In regards to the group--- YES WE WILL GO STRONG until December, but when the new groups come along we will GROW our "fleet" even more. I will open a new group and start all over with new members, and the all of you can join in!!! That is how we grow smarter, stronger, and closer each session!!! Trevor-- Yes the post season blues are normal! Keep training for your 1/2 Mary! You'll find your mojo again! You have had a great year! I personally don't get the blues too much because I am doing a multitude of activities and each season switches to then next... For example: summer is tri season, Fall is hiking/adventure racing, Winter is snowshoeing/skiing/rock climbing, Spring is back to "training for tri".... It is a great system... However I myself was a little down about the accomplishments I had this year... Not too much happening. I still need to get one good race under my belt... Sometime soon! Tracy- Great Idea on the ROAD ID!! I love mine! Use it, use it!!! |

In a nut shell... Hi I'm Steve. I'm an Ironman w/ 7 years experience. LOL!!!! Its also fun(ny) to look at old posts from people still here. Edit... Here's one Hello Steve, I would like to join your group if there is still room. The other members of the group sound like people I can really identify with..................... (is this still true...lmao) STORY: I am a 32yo working mother of 2 and I did my first tri last year. I was very fit and athletic in HS and college and then the children came................ Weight is not an issue,................. My goals for this year are to improve in all areas. I want to do an olympic tri as my big race in september, (Hows that OLY looking now) Currently I get outside to run 1-2 times a week at a distance of 2-4 miles at a time. Don't ride the bike too often in the cold but I like to get in the pool once a week.............. (Changed a little huh) I want to join a group with others that enjoy the sport and achieving our personal goals.
