Most databases are made up of prepackaged or restaurant meals so I it makes it a bit annoying. One of my problems is the doc just changed my thyroid medicine downward and I can really feel the difference- tired again, moody, bloating. I need to get this changed. I am calling today to see what I can do. I was just starting to feel better after the last medicine change. |

I have been making these turkey/pork burgers with 99% lean turkey meat an 1 pack of lean pork....the bit of fat in the pork gives it a bit more flavor. Based one the calories/fat grams on the package when combined, they come out to about 120 calories each with 3 g of fat. |

Champion 6656 | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Hey everyone! Hope the body comp challenge is still going well for you all! I've been busy in the clinic for the past week. Ahhh! Will have to do some measurements and weight and stuff this weekend at some point I guess. Heading down to Iowa for the long weekend and then back to the old grind in family medicine. I've decided family med is a good learning experience...but definitely not my calling. That is my week 1 decision. I need to try and get my workouts done before clinic starts (with this preceptor anyways). He is a bit notorious so far for running 1-1.5 hrs behind sometimes because he fits patients in sometimes and has double and triple bookings all over the place. By the time the day is done I haven't felt very perky for workouts this past week....and I have to readddddd. Here is to hoping my body comp numbers have cooperated over the past few weeks! Almost done our first month! |

Extreme Veteran 671 Not Quite DFL | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Sorry I've been away. I honestly don't remember what my tape numbers were at the beginning. I'll have to see if I can find them. As of this a.m., my weight is 209.8 - which I'm sure is some kind of fake weight - as was my SW of 218.8. I've been on a 2 week hiatus from working out due in part to laziness and two big runs two consecutive weekends. I've just lacked motivation and used lack of time as an excuse. I intend to run tonight. I keep saying I'm going to start P90X - even took measurements last week to establish a start, but - just haven't done it. Not sure where my bands are. Kids broke one of them. Darn kids. I'll have to work on that mental aspect of this thing. I'll run the tape tomorrow a.m. to see what my BF has done, but I doubt it's moved much. I do want to be at 195 or better by 10/31. 190 would be great - it would be the lowest weight for me in probably over a decade or more.
I have no pictures - I don't know if my wife would take any and I dont really want to do the self portrait in the bathroom mirror.... |

Extreme Veteran 671 Not Quite DFL | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge I went back and found my BF was 29% at the start. I"m not sure, but I think I am 25 or 26 % now. Not bad for lack of training and bad diet. |

Master 2005 Silverton, Oregon | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Hope everyone has a great weekend and the week after! I'm flying to Kauai for the Kauai Marathon and don't know how often I'll get a chance to check in. We're camping half the time and I'm not bringing a laptop, but I'll try to check in on my phone occasionally. The big challenge is making it through 10 days in Hawaii without gaining weight, but I'm up for the challenge. |

My eating and training was definitely shredded by the storm. I will catchup on the thread later tonight. Hope everyone is ready for a 3 day weekend! |

Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge This weekend should be interesting with eating, I'm heading to my brother's house. They have 2 kids and are on a different eating schedule than I am. I eat small amounts throughout the day and they can do a big breakfast and go most of the day until dinner other than chips and pretzels as a snack. I tend to bloat after being there for a few days snacking on carbs/salt. Chips and pretzels are not a big thing to me, but when everyone else is crunching I dig in. I'm buying tub of protein powder when I get down there. |

Master 1480 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge My weight sky-rocketed after last weekend, and has been very slowly coming back down... though I haven't been eating nearly as clean as I should be. That coupled with skipping a few run workouts because my legs simply need a little rest... well, it doesn't equal out to good things happening. BUT - if there's a bright spot - I found a recipe for One-ingredient ice cream... and all it is is bananas chopped up, frozen and then food processed until it's the consistency of soft serve ice cream. And it tastes heavenly. And really does a VERY good imitation of ice cream. Except it's BANANAS! Like, HEALTHY! |

Master 1531 TORONTO | Subject: RE: Body Composition Challenge Hey everyone! Just caught up on all the blog posts and it sounds as though everyone is doing great! Congrats on the relay cayrip and good luck on the marathon Ronis! Amazing news about ironman Canada Abby and I envy you your naked confidence (so not there yet!)! I'm up north this week with limited Internet so I'll have to catch up on the blogs/inspires later. Tapering for HIM officially starts now! I'm oddly calm about it all. No clue how my weight is but feel skinnier even WHILE wearing a bikini of course I'm now alone with two 8 year olds so easier to feel free - hey! Maybe I should try topless tho might embarrass kid ha ha. Glad to hear everyone survived Irene!! Keep up all the good hard work!! |

Go topless girl! LOL!!! My 4-yr old nephew loves ot follow me around when I visit and of course I'm not shy. I told my sster-in-law she has to let me know at what point I need to cover up, lol. He has pulled up a stool and done a play-by-play of my shower through the glass shower door"Aunt abbie, you washing your hair now" I think when he watched me get dressed, thong threw him for a loop "Aunt Abbie your underwear are smaller than mine!" LOL |
