Speaking of customer service ---
Background- I have 9 drivers that operate out of my warehouse - each one needs a log book to track their drive hours, on duty hours, and off duty hours. Basically a page lasts for a 24 hour period and each log book has 30 days - so one a month is all that is needed. So, in essence, I need 96 log books each year. Every year, I order 100 log books. Since the end of May is coming, I ordered log books a week ago. They are printed with our company name on them.
Today - FedEx shows up and says he has a delivery - I said "from who" - he said "The company that I don't want to mention on a public forum" I said - you can just bring them in here - he said - I have to pull up to a dock so I can get them off - I said Huh? - He said - there are 8 pallets. I go to his truck and look and then I loook at the invoive - they did not send me 100 log books, they sent me 100,000 log books.
that's right, they sent me enough log books for 1000 years of work. We are good for log books through 3008/3009.
I called them and said - you guys made an error and sent me way too many log books. They say - we didn't make an error, that is what you ardered. I say - do you undertand that the largest companies in the nation don't order log books in 100,000 lots? CRST, the largest team carrier in the world - has 10,000 drivers. That is a years worth of books for them. Didn't somebody look at this order and think, Wow, that's a lot of books.
She says - Well, they are made so you haave to takee them now -- Ha ha ha - I say - I do not have to take them now, I will just refuse to accept delivery and then you will be stuck with the whole lot. She says - but, you ordered them - I say - Let me speak to a supervisor, but I want you on the phone when I do so. She gets the sup, I tell him what is going on, he actually says out loud - You ordered 100,000 books, that's a lot. Then he tells me that they record all of their calls just in case there is a discrepency - we listen to the call, I clearly said 100 books, I ask the CSR, when, exactly, did you hear me say 100,000 - and since you have basically called me aa liar - what will we do about it now.
Needless to say - I am not paying for any books. You never, ever, imply that a customer is lying, even if they are.
