OK, I've looked and looked and can't find it on the IMKY web site. I'm sure I'm just being stupid, but can someone tell me where to find out what nutrition will be provided on the course on race day?

Thanks!

Assuming it is the same as 08, Gatorade Endurance and PowerGel.

I'm still riding the bench and unable to train due to a herniated C7 cervical disc.  6 weeks of nothing so far and no sign of healing yet.  I went in for a second epidural steroid injection yesterday.  If after another 3 weeks there is no sign of recovery, I'm destined for surgery.  If that happens, I might be a DNS for IMKY.

God, y'all have no idea how hard it was to write that last sentence.  I've been running, swimming and biking for over 12 years.  I have never blanked for 6 weeks....I don't even think I've gone 3 weeks without running in the last 12 years.  It's not just about doing triathlons, it's a lifestyle.  And IMKY is not just a race for me, it's a social event that I share with you fine folks during the year that culminates is a weekend celebration, pre-race dinner, practice swim...and oh yeah, a long race on Sunday that we all do together...it's about seeing BTers on the course with a smile and high-five and running the last mile with speedy BTers who come back to run with and encourage us BOPers.

Well, I'm an eternal optimist and still have hopes of recovery and being able to make it to the starting line in Louisville.  I hate posting negative/downer posts in our BT-IMKY thread but I didn't want to wait till July to let y'll know my 'issue'.  Anyway, I'm living my training life vicariously thru you guys so get your arses out there and train, train, train!  And win one for the Gipper.....:-)

~Mike

Mike, think positive!!!!!  I'm sending lots of healing vibes your way...with my HEELS on of course

Since I have had the pleasure of getting to know you and meet you last year, I know writing "DNS for IMKY" is crushing.  Wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.

I have a question about the swim for those of you that did it last year. Should I get clear goggles or tinted for the swim. I made the mistake once of having clear goggles and the sun was in my eyes everytime I tried to sight. I was hopelessly lost most of the swim.

Mike, there's a very good chance that we're coming to IMKY to hang out and cheer on the BTers doing this race.

You will not deprive me of a chance to meet and hang out with you.

Thanks brother.  I'd rather walk thru  h ell with kerosine tanks on my back than to DNS this race.  I had a second epidural steroid injection Friday but it doesn't seem to be working...surgery might be enivitable...but I'm still hopeful.

Is it too early to ask about your race day wheel choices? I'm thinking about renting but not sure what to reserve.

What do you think the ideal set-up for this race is? I'm hoping to be a 170# MOP rider on race day!

disc rear,, front choice I'd leave up to you,, since I really dont' want this to segway into the debate about 3 spoke vs deep front ,, then how deep of a front,,,  I"m running a disc cover with a H3

I'm running a HED Jet Disc and H3. Hills weren't that bad.  I did feel the wind push my H3 on the down hill before you turn onto Ballard School Road.  But a 40 mph a little breeze can cause that.

I'll be running a Hed Tri spoke and Hed disc in the rear, seemed like a lot of the pros ran a disc last year on the VS coverage

I always use tinted goggles when I race and it never has been a problem.

I thought it was too dark for tinted goggles, and I think Heather Gollnick said something about it in one of her videos.
