phatknot - 2009-10-08 2:56 PM check out riorio's badazz workout today and recognize!

You guys are funny. I think this may have been a more HIM specific workout. Seem to remember doing it last year.

No long workouts for me this weekend because of family stuff. It will feel wierd. One more 100 mile ride on the 18th- I am pre-riding the IMAZ course and doing one loop of the run. Its an organized ride for those of you who are local, here's the link:

Happy training this weekend!

Recognized.  Very well done.

I've never done a long broken brick workout like that before but definately want to.  I think for me it would be the ultimate.   Of course my splits would be waaaaay slower.  I'm OK with that. Tongue out

Sally Rocks!

I tell her all the time. Today's workout is sick.

I'm riding the entire bike course on the 18th as well. Not sure about a run loop.

For those that are out of state. The weather in AZ has officially turned to perfect.

Yipee!! It's getting so close! I plan to head down after my peak week, so in about 3.5 weeks. I'm going to do the open water swim at TTL on Nov 8th so I have to be down there by then.

Really training plan, is it really a Tempo Run when you tell me to run fast for 15 minutes, then faster for 2 hours before dropping back down to fast for the last 15 minutes?

22.26 miles in 2:30:00, a new PR!

Got my first century in today, 119 miles. Woot! I'm still planning three more weeks of long rides. I think the Fink plan has things later in progression as many of you seem to have already done most of the long work and are starting to cut back distance.

My taint hurts haha. Did  my longest ride ever (114) on a hilly course with a heavy dose of head wind. May go easy today.

2:21:43 for the 13.1.. Race results say I averaged a 10:47 pace.. 2:14:58 is my current PR and I did pull up a couple of times trying to remember what I did the previous day..  I promised myself...  "No PR's today".. Felt good the whole race and so far tonight, I am still walking!

Lori - great job on that long ride and on the 1/2 marathon.

Phatknot congrats on the long ride.

Can't wait to hear how the rest of you did over the weekend.

For me - I've been sick and basically haven't worked out for 10 days now.  I have completely missed two of the biggest weekends in the training schedule.  The IM may be in question for me.  At the very least it will be down to just an attempt to cross the finish line without totally breaking down.

My weekend began at 4:00am Staurday, gettin gready for an all day Tri-Clinic, and I got stung, TWICE, by a scorpion! First time in 7 years living out here. Haven't even seen one in the house in over a year. So me and my stung leg and hand went off and did 45min OWS drill, a 103 mile bike followed by a 8 mile run all out alt Lake Pleasnat. Pretty sure that's not what is recomended by the Poison Control folks! LOL!
Ran 18 miles Sunday, did feel some cramping at the sting site at the end of the run. Today is rest day.

You should be ok.  I missed over 3 week of my IM training last year and still crossed the line at IMKY.  Get healthy!!

I suffered through a 5 hour ride this weekend.  It was sooooo cold that my body was in pain from cold!!  I so wanted to stop after 3 hours and sit in my car with the heat on, but I called a friend....a fellow Ironman and he got me back out there.  Brutal, just brutal day!

I'm so impressed and inspired by you guys. You seriously amaze me.

Chicago is officially getting cold. The past week week my body has been trying to fight something off so I made the decision to back it off a little bit--which is frustrating because it's the last big build. So last week all I got in was an OWS (which will be my last of the season unless it warms up), an intense trainer session where I had to stop about 3/4's of the way through it and just spin through the remaining time because my stomach was in such bad shape...and then yesterday I paced a friend through 18 miles of the Chicago Marathon. I felt incredible running, which is a good sign...but I missed a 70 mile ride, which is extraordinarily frustrating.

And now...this week we've got a wake and a funeral, so I'm going to have to juggle that with getting back on track. Fun times.

In other fun news, I've been offered a pair of Zipps for the race, but I'm not sure if I should take them. Any thoughts on how Zipp's will impact time overall? no idea if they're tubulars or clinchers at this point.

I love my Zipp 404's, they just roll down the road so smooth. Unless it's super windy I would use'em, if nothing else it might get you through the ride with less energy expended.
