Extreme Veteran 689 | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! wow Karen I'm glad you're ok.. wild turkeys can be pretty vicious.. a few yrs back my wife and I were on our honeymoon in Big Sur (at the Post Ranch Inn if anyone wants a very romantic getaway) hiking the grounds and were chased by wild turkeys.. i'm not sure why they were after us but it was pretty scary.. |

Expert 945 Auburn AL | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! I think my foot is getting better. I am able to walk on it now without much pain, so I am pretty excited that it is not broken. I went to my pediatrician today (best friend) and he said he didn't think it was broken. Maybe a pulled tendon or something, but nothing really to do other that rest it and let it heal. So, it is time to focus on swimming and the bike. |

Had a fit on a EXIT bike today. my stack and reach was measured at 64/48. reviewing the ST database, not a single frame single comes within 5cm of either. i'm 6'3 with a 32" inseam, not very unusual. does anyone think the 64/48 is odd? sincerely confused & irritated (not sure what I'm irritated at though) |

If you don't see one listed I would ask the question there and see if anyone has any recommendations. |

Master 1467 Small Town | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! What about the Quintana Roo Kilo? It isn't exact, but you'll adjust your seat for height right? (Don't listen to me, I went to Bikesport and had someone who know's tell me what I needed)

I respectfully disagree since Dan's updated the DB... many frames are in there. edit... off the top of my head litespeed and a couple fuji models were not. and obviously serotta. do those #'s sound high? Master 2436 Apex, north carolina | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! Okay Karen, you win on the best falling over story. Gobble gobble gobble! But next time, fall on the left side of you bike. The right side is the expensive side Suzy, great pictures! You look like you are having a blast! Barry, I'm glad to hear your foot is not broken. Damaged tendons can be nasty though, especially if you see bruising. Take it easy and heal nicely. I was cringing when you told your story. |

Roger that...I know its not exact. Seat height is dialed in during the fit on EXIT. stack on the Kilo is one of the closest...but still a 57. he had a large in the shop but couldn't get it close to the numbers. Edited by fattyfatfat 2009-04-23 9:45 PM |

I will tell you that when they tell you to stretch it (once it is on it's way to healing), DO IT! I am speaking from experience. I think my lack of ankle flexibility is causing my tendinitis. |

Oh, and yes Tracy I will be the dork at a super sprint on a full tri bike with disc cover, wearing my aero helmet.... Edited by dalessit 2009-04-24 8:02 AM |

That's what I wondered too? I usually go to a pediatrician when my kids are sick. Taper question...the mini is next Saturday (5-2). Between now and then my plan calls for 5M tomorrow, 2.5M Sunday, and 2M on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and the race Saturday. What type of pace should I be running these at? I realize there's no reason to push anything because I won't be any more fit for it. But should I be going slow for conservation? Good luck with your races this weekend, everyone. |

I wouldn't worry too much about tapering for a sprint unless your getting sore and or tired from your workouts. I usually make sure that I take the day before off or just do a light spin to make sure my legs are fresh. For the sprints you don't want to lose that edge. |

I see you've convinced yourself its the helmet, bike and disc that makes you a dork and not the japanese drag-coefficient spreadsheets. If it helps you sleep at night Good luck to those racing this weekend - can't wait to read some RR's. I'm hoping to get back to training tomorrow. Having asthma, an allergy attack is always an ordeal. I feel like my lungs are finally starting to loosen up, so I'm going to try for an easy ride tomorrow morning.

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! oops, sorry you wrote mini so I figured you were doing a super sprint. I would pick one or two of those shorter to run at your tempo run pace, the rest probably at a long-run pace. While not going to gain any speed you still want your legs to be used to running a bit faster. |
